The recipient of the Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Movie took home the award during the 76th annual Emmy Awards. Outstanding is not even close to describing her!
This past Sunday, September 15, Jodie Foster was honored with her very first Emmy Award, which she received for her performance in the television show True Detective: Night Country.
A total of four nominations had been received prior to this award being presented. She referred to the HBO series as “a magical experience” and expressed her gratitude to Issa López, the creator of the fourth season of the anthology series. “This is an incredibly emotional moment for me,” she remarked.
In the film True Detective: North Country, Foster plays the role of Liz Danvers, an Alaskan police chief who was entrusted with unraveling the mystery of eight men who vanished at a research station.
The victory for Foster brings her to the halfway point of the EGOT. Because of her performances in “The Accused” and “The Silence of the Lambs,” she has already won two Academy Awards.
Foster expressed her gratitude to the “incredible, incredibly Icelandic crew” of the program as well as to her actors, and she made a particular mention of her “partner in crime” Evangeline Navarro, who was also nominated for an award on Sunday night.
After that, she proceeded to convey her appreciation to the Inupiaq and Inuit people who reside in Northern Alaska. In the series about Elizabeth Zott that is based on the best-selling book written by Bonnie Garmus, Larson, who is 34 years old, plays the role. As a result of the many failures she has had in her chemical career, Elizabeth decides to accept a position as a presenter of a culinary program, with the intention of incorporating science into her lectures.
“It was so nice for me to be able to do something that’s loving and sweet, and not always talking about the darkest things that are happening in the world,” Larson said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about Lessons in Chemistry, which was also nominated for an award for best limited or anthology series. In the film Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans, directed by Ryan Murphy, Watts, who is 55 years old, plays the role of New York City socialite Babe Paley. The film chronicles the tale of Truman Capote’s disagreement with Babe and her friends, whom he referred to as “swans,” after he released a chapter in his book Answered Prayers that revealed the women’s secrets. The most notable accusation made in the article, which was headlined “La Côte Basque, 1965,” was that Babe’s husband Bill, who was also a co-founder of CBS, had cheated on her.
In an interview with People, Watts, who also served as an executive producer for the FX series, said that “it became such an undoingfor Babe.” When she confided in him, she had the impression that there was a trust between the two of them.
