A commenter who questioned Ilona Maher’s weight was shut down by the United States of America rugby player Ilona Maher in a vicious TikTok attack that has subsequently gone viral.
On one of Maher’s TikTok videos, a commenter commented, “I bet that person has a 30% BMI.” This commenter has since deactivated their account, which spurred the Olympian to record a reaction to the commenter’s statement.
Greetings, and I am grateful for your feedback. I believe that you were attempting to make fun of me, but the truth is that this is the case. My body mass index is thirty. When Maher started her video, which has been seen more than 4.3 million times and liked more than 629,000 times, she said, “Well, 29.3 to be exact.”
As well as this, Maher said, “I’ve been considered overweight my entire life,” revealing that she had been classified as overweight from the time she was in elementary school until she was in high school.
“I vividly remember that when I was in high school, there was a time when I was required to turn in a physical to the office, and right at the bottom of the page, it said that I was overweight. I was so embarrassed to turn that in and have that written there,” she added. “I have been like this throughout my entire life.”
After touching her temple, she addressed the individual commenter by saying, “You know, like you do.” She said that she had a conversation with her dietitian because she relies on facts rather than simply what randomly appears on the internet.

During our conversation, we discussed body mass index (BMI), and we discussed how it is not very beneficial for athletes.
The method for calculating a person’s body mass index (BMI) involves dividing the individual’s weight, which is measured in kilograms, by the square of their height, which is measured in meters.
According on the number that was obtained, individuals are classified into one of four categories: underweight, healthy, overweight, or obese.
In addition to this, it has a weak historical foundation, and as Maher points out, it is not a reliable measure of a person’s capabilities.
“BMI does not dictate what I am capable of doing. There is no indication of what I am capable of doing on the field. How physically fit I am. “It’s nothing more than a couple of numbers in combination,” Maher said. What it does not tell you is the amount of muscle that I have or anything else of the kind. It’s true that my body mass index is thirty. My weight is deemed to be excessive.
However, she made the following observation: “I have stated it before, I am 5 feet 10 inches tall, I weigh 200 pounds, and I have approximately — and this is an estimate — approximately 170 pounds of lean mass on me.” Perform the calculation in your brain. I really doubt that you can.”
Her video came to a close with a last remark that she addressed to the commenter, which said, “Unfortunately, I’m going to the Olympics, and you’re not.”
@ilonamaher As long as haters keep saying dumb stuff, I’m gonna keep clapping back
