Gwinnett police reacted to a complaint that her corpse had been discovered “in a wooded area just off the highway” on the morning of July 15, which was several hours later. The statement released by the police said that the body was discovered.”
The members of her family said to the police that they used a mobile application on their mobile phones in order to locate her corpse after she had left the house.
In accordance with the police, a medical examiner found that her death was the result of a murder.
Jesus Monroy, what was once known as Campos’ boyfriend, was taken into custody on Wednesday by the authorities for allegedly “giving false statements to a police officer,” according to the statement released by the police. Campos’s death has not been attributed to Monroy, according to the authorities.
According to Sgt. Collin Flynn, who has been quoted by FOX 5 Atlanta, Monroy is accused of providing investigators with “false statements” during an interview.
It has been reported by Atlanta News First that Campos’ family has said that Monroy is the father of the unborn child that Campos was carrying.
The information on whether or not Monroy has filed a plea or engaged a counsel to speak on his behalf is not immediately known.
Miriam Zarate, Campos’ mother, has said that she discovered her daughter only a few minutes away from their home, as reported by 11 Alive. According to Zarate, when they found her, her whole body was swelled along with being chilly and purple, and she had her hand on her stomach.
The father of the victim, Edward Campos, was quoted as saying, “I found my daughter laid face-down,” as reported by Atlanta News First.
“It was a challenge. “I knew there was something wrong” he remarked, referring to her lips and her nose that was bleeding.
It was reported by 11 Alive that Mia was the youngest of her five siblings.
According to the site, her family has claimed that the name Sebastian has been chosen for the unborn kid, who is anticipated to be delivered in September.
In order to assist in covering the costs associated with her funeral, the Campos family has established a GoFundMe page.
