For Marie Osmond, being a member of a big family is nothing out of the ordinary. She was the eighth of nine children, and all of her siblings were males. And the family has maintained a strong connection to the entertainment industry ever since they began performing in public as a group when they were very young. Marie Osmond did not participate in the Osmond family singing group in any formal capacity; nonetheless, she and her brother Donny Osmond would go on to co-host the variety program “Donny & Marie” from 1976 to 1979.
Marie is a solo musician who rose to prominence thanks to her crossover success with the country-pop song “Paper Roses.” Her mother was the one who first inspired her to create her own album, and both the album and the lead single ended up being certified gold. Additionally, “Paper Roses” achieved number one on the rankings for country music and number five on the lists for mainstream music compiled by Billboard. On the country charts, the song “In My Little Corner of the World” was successful in breaking into the top 40 positions.
In 2007, Marie competed as a celebrity on “Dancing with the Stars,” where she demonstrated her prowess as a dancer and finished in third place with her dance partner, Jonathan Roberts.
Marie, who is the matriarch of her own huge band of children and grandkids, has fulfilled her position as a mother in a way that is both kind and unflappable. Marie and her second husband, Bill Blosil, were not content in their relationship despite the fact that they had been married for 20 years. Marie related her story, saying, “I just went, ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ and my children came to me and said, ‘Mom, please leave.'” We have no choice but to leave this place.'”
In 2005, the couple’s home was destroyed by fire, which served as a decisive indicator that it was time for them to part ways. Marie said that “it was probably one of the most freeing things that ever happened to me,” and she explained why. “Because I came to the conclusion that the house I had built was really a front for a marriage that had been strained for 20 years. They call it “the burning within,” and I firmly think that phrase refers to God. Therefore, it is necessary for these things to occur in order to shake us awake.”
Marie said that a significant portion of the reason she had difficulties with Blosil was due to the fact that she was still lamenting the end of her romance with Stephen Craig. “You have to be so careful not to rush into a relationship after you’ve been through a painful one,” she said after seeing her friend’s decision to end their engagement. You truly do need some time to yourself. And in order to locate a good person, you first need to be confident in the fact that you are a decent person.
Another incident that had a profound impact on Marie’s life was when she got back in touch with Craig. The singer developed a new perspective on her previous relationship with her first spouse after the end of her marriage to Blosil, who was her second husband. “The thing about a second marriage is that you realize things that you thought were so important, aren’t,” Marie said. “And that’s one of the best things about it.” “Being with my hubby is one of my favorite things. He is the kindest and gentlest guy I have ever met. He is dedicated to helping others and takes the time to carefully consider their requirements.
After being divorced in 1985 and waiting until 2011 to remarry, Craig and Marie finally tied the knot. Her life became more difficult following the dissolution of her first marriage. Marie said, “All of a sudden I’m a single mom, and I don’t know how I’m going to pay my rent, let alone feed my kid.” She had no idea where she would get the money to accomplish any of those things. “As a result, I came to the conclusion that I needed to go back to work.”
After all that she had been through with Blosil, Marie was at first unsure whether or not she wanted to give marriage a third go. Marie said, “I never wanted to get married again after my first marriage.” “I was like, ‘I’m fine, I’m good!'”
Marie and Craig were able to reignite the flame of their passion with the assistance of their son Stephen. “Our son was the one who got us to kind of be back together, but (my husband) has been there for me and he’s just my best friend, you know, and he loves my kids,” the singer added. “It was our son who got us to kind of be back together.”
Marie and Craig made the decision to be remarried in order to be able to go to their son Stephen’s wedding as a married couple. This decision was prompted by the fact that their other child was also getting married. “We (realized) we can’t go to our son’s wedding and not be married,” Marie said. “Stephen was getting married, and we couldn’t go to his wedding without being married.” Therefore, we tied the knot a few months earlier than he did. He laughed and said that he never imagined it would come to pass, but it did!
As a result of the little amount of time available for the ceremony, Marie opted to wear the same wedding dress that she worn to her first wedding with Craig. Marie said, “I was cleaning out my garage when all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff… and it was this dress and it was five days ago.” I’m not joking. Isn’t it really insane?
Marie’s dress did not need any alterations in order for her to be able to wear it for her second wedding to her husband, which took place over 30 years after the first time she went down the aisle. Despite this, it was not the most comfortable dress to wear by any stretch of the imagination. Marie has said the following on Entertainment Tonight:
“I’m in it, but I can’t breathe,” she said.
In addition, the singer added, “I had a dress all designed (for this wedding), and when it showed up, it was not (right).” I was genuinely on the verge of tears because I felt so depressed. Therefore, it was almost as if everything had been orchestrated perfectly when she discovered the package in her garage.
It is quite clear that Marie believes that her romantic existence with Craig was guided entirely by fate. Marie said that “time makes you grow up and appreciate things,” and that she believed that “some things I guess were just always meant to be.” “Do you realize how good life is?”
Marie revealed that she and Craig’s wedding will take place on May 4 since it was the day on which both her late son Michael and her late mother would have celebrated their birthdays. “It was important that both Michael and my mom were with us on this special day,” she added. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
Over the course of her career, Marie has never failed to provide her devoted following access to moving and significant events in her life. May 2023 was the month that she and Craig celebrated their anniversary, and she referred to him as “the love of my life.” A picture of Marie and her husband from their first wedding was shared online by Marie in June 2023, alongside a photo of the same pair from their second wedding, which took place 29 years later.
Marie raved in the post’s description about how much she was enjoying recreating the romance she had with Craig, and the message was packed with emojis of hearts. In her letter, she said, “I can’t believe I get to spend the day with my very best friend!”💖😘🥰”
