While attending school, Glen Powell is also working on the production of his next picture.
Powell, who is 35 years old, expressed his intention to complete his college degree at the University of Texas in Austin while simultaneously filming his next picture, The Running Man, with director Edgar Wright. Powell made this announcement during an interview with IndieWire, which took place before to the release of his next film Twisters.
“I’m not going to be sitting in a class with other students on the regular,” the actor said in his interview. “I’m going to be coming back because I have to finish up, but I’m going to be shooting The Running Man in the fall,” which is the reason I’m going to be coming back. For the time being, I will be in London; however, I will be returning to the United States to take proctored tests. Consequently, they are allowing me to figure it out via the use of remote learning.
He went on to say, “And it is obvious that I will be coming in, Zooming in for classes and other things, but I have to be back for the proctored exams.” Therefore, we are working on figuring things out for two or three times over the semester, and I will return for all of my belongings.
It was brought to the attention of the celebrity that Wright “has been very nice about letting me finish my degree in the middle of his massive movie.”
When Powell was in his first year at the University of Texas, he decided to drop out of college in order to pursue a career in movies. According to a story that was published in May by The Hollywood Reporter, Eddie Limato, a Hollywood agency, had signed him at that time. The actor said to the publication that he had every intention of graduating from the institution; but, once his career took off with the release of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, he was left with two more classes that he needed to complete in order to graduate.
During an interview with THR, he expressed his desire to complete his college education by saying, “I believe it is really important to my mom, and it’s more of an emotional thing for me.” Also, I’m so near to it that I can almost taste it.
In April, a number of different publications announced that Powell would be playing the lead role in The Running Man, a remake of the film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger that was released in 1987 and was based on the Stephen King book of the same name. Despite the fact that no more casting announcements have been revealed as of yet, the film will be Wright’s first release since the release of Last Night in Soho in 2021.
According to Edgar, the universe that he has created on this gadget is really absurd. “It’s so good,” Powell said in an interview with IndieWire about the film that is now in production. “And in all honesty, we are both such huge fans of the Stephen King book, and it is going to be a fantastic character,” she said. I can’t contain my excitement over it.
