Sadly, Carol A. Bongiovi, the mother of Jon Bon Jovi, has passed away. Her age was 83.

Individuals have confirmed that Carol passed away on Tuesday, July 9, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. Her passing occurred three days before her 84th birthday.

“Our mother was a formidable opponent; her enthusiasm and can-do attitude were the driving forces behind the formation of our family. According to a statement that Bon Jovi, who is 62 years old, sent to PEOPLE on behalf of the family, she will be sorely missed.

Carol was a businesswoman who ran a number of enterprises in addition to being the creator of the fan club for the band that bore her son’s name. In 1959, the Playboy bunny, who was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, joined the United States Marine Corps. While serving her nation with distinction, she also had the opportunity to meet John Bongiovi, Sr., who would later become her husband.

After some time, the pair relocated to Sayreville, New Jersey, where she and her husband are now raising their children. After some time, they made their home in Holmdel, New Jersey, where she remained until the day she passed away.

When Bon Jovi was interviewed by The Big Issue in November 2020, he attributed his success to the fact that his parents had provided him with “the ability to make the dream reality.”

The statement that he made was as follows: “Even if you truly weren’t any good at your craft, you could work on it if you believed that you were.” “As I grew older, I came to the realization that the gift that my parents gave me was a wonderful one. They had a deep and abiding faith in the John F. Kennedy slogan of sending a man to the moon. You are able to go to the moon, that is, of course. Leave me alone, Johnny.’ That’s where I ended up.”

The artist revealed how his parents encouraged him to pursue his aspirations by granting him permission to perform when he was just 17 years old.

They never failed to show their support for me, which, looking back, makes me feel quite grateful. Because I can get home at one or two in the morning, and I still have to be at school by eight o’clock, I find it difficult to go home. As he said, “They just told you to show up on time for school; you are aware that this is your responsibility; however, you should pursue your dream.”

Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years, their three sons and daughters-in-law: Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi, Anthony and Nina Yang Bongiovi, and Matthew and Desiree Bongiovi, as well as her eight devoted grandchildren. She was married to Jon Bon Jovi for 63 years.
