John Cena, a legendary figure in the world of professional wrestling, has announced that he would retire in 2025, after a remarkable Twenty-year career.

During the Money in the Bank event that took place on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, John Cena, who has won the WWE title belt an astounding sixteen times, made his shocking announcement.

Although he was standing in the ring with a microphone in his hand, John Cena addressed the audience that was filled with people and said, “Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from WWE.”

At that moment, the crowd suddenly started yelling “No!” while simultaneously flashing hand motions to convey their dissatisfaction, and then everyone became quiet.

Cena proceeded by stating that he had been with WWE for twenty years and had seen everything at that point. He said that WWE was presently experiencing its most profitable phase, but he also remembered the difficult days when “nobody wants to be your friend and only the most dedicated fans stand by your side.” He added that WWE was currently going through its most prosperous period.

Cena then praised the Canadian fans for “always showing up” and contributing to the development of the WWE into what it is today because of their support. A historical first was also brought up by him, and that was Netflix’s exclusive agreement with WWE Raw, which is scheduled to begin airing in the year 2025.

Following his assurances that he will be engaged in that endeavor, John Cena informed everyone that his last appearance in WWE would be at Wrestlemania 41, which would take place in Las Vegas the following year. Then, John expressed his gratitude to his many admirers, who applauded and yelled out, “Thank you, Cena.”

After the Money in the Bank event, John Cena had a press conference where he answered questions and provided some clarification on his viewpoint of the reasons he retired. In spite of the fact that he said it was not up to him, he contacted officials from WWE with the suggestion. In addition to this, he said that the WWE had begun discussions with the idea that “this would be a great span of time if we were ever going to do it.”

However, Cena did not provide any details, which resulted in his message being rather unclear. However, he did left the door open for a potential return to WWE at some point in the future.

Last but not least, Cena declined to mention former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who has been the subject of claims of sexual assault and sex trafficking throughout his tenure as CEO of WWE.
