In what has been described as a “terrible accident” involving a tree limb, Tony Knight, a comedian from the United Kingdom, has passed away. He was 54 years old.
According to a GoFundMe website that was established by a member of Knight’s family, Knight was “tragically killed” on June 7th when he was hit by a big tree branch while visiting the Rock&Cars event in Lavaur, France. The festival was held in celebration of the automobile industry.
According to reports, Knight was on his way to the south of France, where his family and friends were waiting for his “annual return” at the time of the tragedy.
“Tony had been in France only a few days before he lost his life attending a festival with his friend Pascall, and never made it home,” the family member proceeded to explain.
When he was just 54 years old, he was enjoying the time of his life. When asked about his memories, they stated that he was fit, healthy, and happy, and that he had everything going for him. The people that loved him the most were Hayley, his girlfriend, his family, and his friends from all over the globe. He was charming, witty, and passionate when he was around.
According to a French news organization, Knight was murdered when two branches from a huge tree fell on him. This information was disclosed at the time of his passing. In addition, four additional festivalgoers are hurt.
The incident took place in the midst of favorable weather conditions, and there were no indications of a storm or wind developing. It was stated by the source that “many witnesses present at six o’clock recount the sound of the branches cracking and the screams and then the arrival of help.” Many others have expressed their horror at having been there at the scene of the accident, and some of them have said that they had been seated at the location of the tragedy only a few minutes before.
The only person who did not survive was Knight.
One of the things that was said on the GoFundMe page was the comedian’s deep love for dogs and his desire to assist people “all over the world.” In addition to his work as a performer, he was well-known for his role in the training of dogs who exhibited problematic behavior. He also regularly appeared on radio and television and taught seminars.
Under the plan, Knight was going to perform his stand-up performance “Mad Dogs and an Englishman” in a number of different locations around the United Kingdom and Australia.
“We are beyond devastated that his life was taken by a freak accident…an accident that we are all still trying to comprehend,” the family member noted on the website. “We are all still trying to comprehend the accident.”
