It was the passing of Missy Elliott’s pet that had a significant role in her choice to go on her forthcoming tour.
Ahead of her next tour, Out of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience, the hip-hop queen, who is 52 years old, said that she has delayed going on tour on many occasions, the most recent of which was to take care of her cherished dog Hoodie, who passed away in November.
“I stayed home a lot because I didn’t want to go out on the road, and something happened,” Elliott, who is 53 years old, said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “He was 17 and lived a long, happy life.”
She goes on to say that her senior dog was “so pretty” and “lived a very long time.”
The support that Elliott received from her friend Ciara after Hoodie’s passing was essential in her decision to resume her tour.
After Hoodie passed away, she remembers thinking, “So I said, ‘Okay, now I can leave the house without having to worry about anything,'” she recalled. “So Ciara and my dog played a big influence in me making the decision to go out.”
During the trip, Elliott will not be by himself. Miss Fendi Dior, her dog, will be accompanying her whenever she goes out.
“She’s six years old,” adds the performer who has won a Grammy. Now that we are going to be going on the road together, [she] has gotten her clothing ready. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Elliott mentions that her new puppy enjoys dressing up and that he was “excited” to go the tour with her wearing clothing that were identical to hers.
“I am aware that there are moments when such individuals ask, ‘Why are you clothing those dogs?’… On the other hand, she enjoys wearing clothing. It is true that she enjoys wearing clothing. She is rushing away as soon as she sees me removing the garment from the closet. Regarding Miss Fendi Dior, she comments, “She is aware of what that means.”
The canines owned by the rapper have always have a sense of style, as Elliott has demonstrated on various social media platforms. In the past, she had posted pictures of Hoodie wearing fashionable attire, like as a fur coat during the winter season.
The fashion designer Miss Fendi Dior will continue this pattern as she embarks on a tour with Elliott and Ciara and Busta Rhymes, who are close friends of Elliott’s pet parents and have worked together for a long time.
As a means of getting ready for the beginning of the tour, Elliott has been increasing the intensity of her rehearsals: When I go home, I have a full day of work ahead of me, and the job continues. However, I am in a good mood. I am ecstatic about it too.
Beginning on July 4, Elliott will embark on her tour titled “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience.”
