Donny Osmond first gained widespread recognition when he became a member of his brothers’ band, The Osmonds, which consisted of Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay Osmond in addition to Donny. When they were at the height of their popularity between the years 1971 and 1975, the boy band was always at the top of the charts, and wherever they went, their fans erupted into a frenzy. They would even wind up being chased by crowds of youngsters who would often be sobbing and yelling. The Osmonds come from a big family, with one sister, Marie Osmond, and eight brothers: Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy Osmond. Marie Osmond was born into celebrity since her brothers were already renowned by the time she was born, thus she was thrust into the spotlight immediately. Donny and Debbie, who are married after more than 40 years of marriage, have been together for all of that time. After first meeting while they were both in their teens, the couple went on a few dates before being married in 1978. After that, they started a family and ultimately had five children together: Donald, who was born in July 1979, then Jeremy, who was born in June 1981, then Brandon, who was born in 1985, Christopher, who was born in 1990, and lastly Joshua, who was born in 1998.
It is quite evident that Donny is overjoyed and extremely proud of his five sons, all of whom are now grown men. In June of 2021, he posted a photograph on Instagram that had all of the Osmond guys posing together with the following caption:
“Being a father is one of the most rewarding experiences because it gives you the opportunity to see your children discover the joy of fatherhood for themselves.” These five lovely guys are the best sons I could have asked for. I couldn’t wish for anything better.
It is quite endearing to watch how much Donny loves his children and wife, as seen by his doting parenting style.
The wedding of Donny and Debbie’s youngest son, Joshua, is scheduled for the year 2020. This means that all five of Donny and Debbie’s boys are now married. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the couple were only able to marry one another in the comfort of their own garden, surrounded only by their immediate family. However, based on a photograph that Donny published in the year 2020, the little wedding seemed to have been nothing short of beautiful.
The oldest of Donny and Debbie’s other kids, Donald, tied the knot with his wife Jessica in 2010, and the pair has since expanded their family to include four little ones. In 2002, their second-oldest son, Jeremy, tied the knot with Melisa, and the couple now has three children of their own.
Christopher, the second-youngest, was married in 2017 and he and his wife, Alta Osmond, are expecting their first child in November of 2020. Their middle son Brandon married Shelby in 2008, and they also have four children. That only left Joshua and Summer, who do not yet have any children of their own.
You need only take a glimpse at Donny’s social media accounts to see that he is devoted to his 25-person strong family in order to have no doubt that he is a family guy. His social media accounts are filled to the brim with gorgeous and loving photographs and messages about his family. The news that Donny’s son Don Jr. and his wife were expecting their first child in 2012 drove the singer to tears. Don Jr. is the singer’s son. “They’ve been trying for a long, long, long time,” he remarked through his wet eyes. “I couldn’t be happier for them, and I must say that I’m pretty happy with my own life as well!” After then, Donny was officially able to call the infant boy his sixth grandson.
Donny always seems to have a good time when he gets to spend the day with his complete family, especially when they go to fun places like the Stadium of Fire and the Butterfly Biosphere. In addition, he often shares news on the accomplishments of his grandkids, such as the time one of his grandsons had his artwork shown at the National Museum of Natural History or when another grandchild, Dylan, won a championship football game. It always seems like such a pleasant, family-oriented event when it’s someone’s birthday.
When Donny only had one granddaughter among his grandkids for a good portion of his life, he referred to her as his “sweet little princess” and noted in his journal that he was “lucky to have” her in his life. In spite of this, Donny was overjoyed to learn that he would have another grandchild in 2020, and a tape that was recorded at the gender reveal showed how happy he was about this development. In yet another adorable snapshot that Donny shared on social media, he is seen with one of his grandchildren and one of his granddaughters. He captioned the photo with the following sentiment: “The only thing better than Father’s Day is Grandpa’s Day.”
Donny recognizes and gives thanks for the many gifts that life has bestowed upon him, most notably his family. On Instagram, he expressed his feelings about being a father to his boys by writing, “Being their father is one of my greatest joys, and watching our sons take on the role of #fatherhood with such love, patience, and tenderness is a precious gift.” He went on to say that being a father to his sons was one of his “greatest joys.”
Donny Osmond said on June 29, 2023, that the Osmond family, which was already rather big, had just gained a new member in the shape of their grandson Dune Tyler. The family of Donny’s son Christopher and his wife Alta welcomed their second child, a lovely bundle of joy, into the world. Donny announced the news on Instagram along with a sweet snapshot of him gazing down into the eyes of tiny baby Dune. He captioned the photo with the following: “Dune is here!”
“Dear Chris and Alta, I want to express my gratitude for the gift of another handsome grandchild that you have given to Debbie and me. Dune Tyler Osmond, you are now a member of the Osmond family. You really are a guardian angel sent down from above.
The fondness with which Donny and his family regarded their newest member was palpable to the audience.
One person exclaimed, “There was a day (100 years ago) when I would have given my life for Donny to look at me like that,” and they went on to explain how they felt about Donny.
“Without a doubt, this is the most stunning photograph I’ve ever seen. Donny, you are a wonderful human being. Someone else’s words echo across the room: “I can feel the love right through the screen.”
Another person said, “There’s nothing like holding your grandchild for the first time in your arms,” and they were absolutely right.
During an interview with ET Canada, Donny joked that due to the large number of her grandkids, an official soccer competition may be played between two teams:
Oh, that’s not even close. a number of different soccer teams. It’s called “sweet chaos,” in case you were wondering. We celebrated the Fourth of July with a party not too long ago, and everyone was invited. It was… each and every one of us having the time of our lives. It was an amazing experience.”
