In a tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday morning at around 7:15 a.m., a girl named Katelyn Ray was killed after her vehicle collided with a bus belonging to South Panola School. The event took place on Highway 15 close to Highway 6 in Panola County, Mississippi.

That Katelyn Ray is who she claims to be was verified by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Her elder sister was on her way home from work when the accident occurred. She was on her way to pick her up.

Katelyn’s mother, Shelia Ray, shared her thoughts on their last conversation and conveyed her love and devotion for her daughter.

After Katelyn did not show up to her sister’s place of employment by 7:30 in the morning, the family got anxious about her whereabouts. Katelyn’s sister, Courtney Pettit, placed a request for information on Facebook, stating that she is in critical need of it.

After the family was informed of the accident by the highway police, the search for the missing person was completed. A couple of months earlier, Katelyn, who had just participated in the GED program at the WIN Job Center, had just recently earned her driver’s license. Panola County residents are in a state of profound grief at her passing, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol is still currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
