According to a court record that Rolling Stone was able to get, Justin Timberlake was taken into custody on Tuesday on suspicion of driving while in a “intoxicated condition.” This investigation was prompted by allegations that he failed to stop at a stop sign that was placed in the Southampton community of Sag Harbor, New York. According to the authorities, he was freed on his own recognizance after being arraigned on a single misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated a few hours later.

According to the court document, the musician was pulled over at around 12:37 a.m. while driving a 2025 BMW and failing to stop at the junction of Madison Street and Jermain Avenue in Sag Harbor. The incident occurred in Sag Harbor. “Keep to the right side of the road” was supposedly something that he failed to do for a number of blocks.

The one-page filing that was made by the prosecutors, which was based on the sworn statements of Sag Harbor Police Officer Michael D. Arkinson, reads as follows: “His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

According to People, Timberlake made an appearance in court on Tuesday, along with a lawyer and two other persons. A virtual appearance in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court is set for his next court date, which is slated on July 26, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, which declined to comment more on the current situation.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Timberlake’s attorney, Ed Burke, said that the charge was a single count since the client declined to take the breath test. In addition, Mr. Timberlake was issued two further court tickets, one for running a stop sign and the other for not driving in the appropriate traffic lane. When Rolling Stone attempted to get a statement from a representative for Timberlake, they did not immediately respond.

In order to promote his most recent album, Everything I Thought It Was, Justin Timberlake is now in the midst of a long tour throughout the continent of North America. As of right now, the artist is due to continue his tour this coming Friday, June 21, in Chicago. His most recent performance was on June 15, and it took place in Miami. For the remainder of the autumn, the run will continue, and it will conclude on December 16 in Indianapolis.

It is the first studio album that Timberlake has published since the release of Man of the Woods in 2018, and it is his sixth studio album overall. Everything I Thought It Was was released in March. Notably, the album includes a new song with ‘NSync called “Paradise.” This song is the boy band’s second recent hit, after “Better Place,” which was released on the album Trolls Band Together recently. All of these tracks are the first new music that ‘NSync has released in almost twenty years.
