Ben Potter, a popular YouTuber, passed at only 40 years old.
In a statement that was posted on X (which was once known as Twitter), the online star known as Comicstorian, who had over three million followers on the video-sharing platform, passed away on June 8, 2024 “in an unfortunate accident,” according to his wife Nathalie, who verified the news.
Ben used his Comicstorian account to make audio dramatizations of comic books, and he often had conversations on the Marvel and DC Universes.
“From the perspective of many of you, he was a Comicstorian, providing voices for tales from a variety of other genres. “To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for,” Nathalie stated, saying that she did not provide any specifics about the accident.
Ben was a caring and honest person wherever he went, whether he was a spouse, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger. He was the kind of person who would really listen to his loved ones and make time for them. To ensure that everyone was in good health and to make them laugh, he would do all in his power. He was our rock, and anytime his loved ones needed reassurance, he would provide it for them,” she went on to say.

According to Nathalie, her spouse “was my world,” and she continued by saying, “I need time to be with friends and family.” Despite the fact that I have a lot of stuff to sort out, the first thing I need to do is mourn. All I ask is that you respect not just my privacy but also the privacy of everyone else. Right now, the most important thing for me is to protect all that he has constructed, and I do not have any intentions beyond that.
“His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this,” she said in conclusion.
Nathalie proceeded by saying that Ben “spent over ten years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies.” She made this statement while using Ben’s YouTube presence as an example. His passion for engaging narratives and characters that are well-written was the impetus for him to begin posting videos on YouTube.
Both the team and I are interested in continuing it. “To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, and to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive,” Nathalie said. “To honor him by continuing to tell great stories.” “We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now.”
Just one day before he passed away, Ben uploaded his last video to YouTube, which was titled “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel.” Ben had originally uploaded around 4,000 films to YouTube.
The son of Ice Cube and Kimberly Woodruff, O’Shea Jackson Jr., was one of the individuals who paid respect to the deceased. The reason I am continuing to take a vacation from Twitter is because of personal issues. In spite of this, he commented on X, “I have to come back and say something because of the news that I just got.” To the Comicstorian, may you rest in peace. Hearing this news has left me in utter disbelief. Thank you so much for your hard work, guy; I was a major fan of yours. This is one of my favorite channels to watch on YouTube.
A prayer for his family and friends. Benjamin Potter, may you rest in peace,” Jackson Jr. said. “I hope you all are doing well. Hug the people you care about the most. Hello, I hope to see you all very soon.
It was further said on X by comic book creator Scott Snyder, “I am completely stunned and deeply saddened to hear this.” Benny’s enthusiasm for comedy was contagious, and it was a pleasure to be in his presence. To his family, please accept my deepest sympathies.
