Clare Mosley, the wife of Michael Mosley, is expressing her distress at the passing of her husband.

Clare stated in a statement that was received by PEOPLE that “I don’t know quite where to begin with this.” This statement was made after the corpse of Michael was discovered on Sunday, June 9, after a hunt for the well-known British television doctor who had vanished earlier in the week in Greece.

“The loss of Michael, my amazing, hilarious, kind, and smart husband, has left me in utter disbelief. “Our life together was filled with remarkable blessings,” she went on to say. “We loved each other very much and were so happy together.”

She went on to say that she is “incredibly proud” of the couple’s children for “their resilience and support over the past days,” and she continued by saying, “My family and I have been enormously comforted by the outpouring of love from people from all over the world.” It is evident that Michael was a significant figure in the lives of a great many of you.

A beach near Agia Marina was the location where the corpse of Michael was discovered, as reported by a number of news organizations, including the BBC, the Associated Press, and The Guardian.

According to the Associated Press, Lefteris Papakalodoukas, the mayor of Symi, the town in where Michael went missing, said that the corpse was resting face-up against a fence after seeming to have fallen down a steep hill. It was on June 5 that Michael did not return from a trek, which is when the hunt for him was originally initiated.

Clare added in her statement that she and her loved ones are presently “taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it.” Clare’s message was released after she had passed away.

“He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team,” she proceeded to explain.

Clare asserts that “Michael was an adventurous man,” which is “part of what made him so special.” Michael certainly was an adventurous man.

“We are so grateful to the extraordinary people on Symi who have worked tirelessly to help find him,” she stated in response. “Some of these people on the island, who hadn’t even heard of Michael, worked from dawn till dusk unasked.”

“We’re also very grateful to the press who have dealt with us with great respect,” Grace concluded by saying. “I feel so lucky to have our children and my amazing friends.”

“Most of all, I feel so lucky to have had this life with Michael,” she said in her conclusion. “Thank you all.”
