This is the seventh time that Simone Biles has won the title of national champion.

On Sunday, June 2, the gymnast with the most medals in the history of the sport of gymnastics won five additional medals, including the title of all-around champion, in the United States Gymnastics Championships held in Fort Worth.

The 27-year-old gymnast, Biles, completed the tournament with a commanding two-day total of 119.750 and gold medals in every apparatus, including the floor, vault, beam, and uneven bars. She dominated the competition by a wide margin throughout the whole competition.

At 113.850, Skye Blakely, who is 19 years old, finished in second place, roughly six points behind Biles. Kayla DiCello, 19, came in third place. In fourth and fifth place, respectively, were Suni Lee, age 21, and Jordan Chiles, age 23.

Following the conclusion of the competition, Biles stepped up to a different platform to respond to questions on her preparedness for the Olympic Games in Paris.

She continued by saying, “Now that I have attended two Olympics, each one is a little bit more stressful because I know exactly what to expect.” The expectations that I have for myself are quite clear.

The selection of the national team, which will fight for seats on Team USA in Paris, took place in conjunction to the awards presentation. Jade Carey, Dulcy Caylor, Eveylynn Lowe, Zoey Molomo, Hezly Rivera, Joscelyn Roberson, Simone Rose, Tiana Sumanasekera, and Leanne Wong are also among them. Biles, DiCello, Blakely, Lee, and Chiles are also among them.

Kaliya Lincoln, who is 18 years old, and Shilese Jones, who is 21 years old and had a shoulder injury that caused her to withdraw from the tournament on Friday, both made it into the national squad. A waiver was requested by each of them in order to participate in the United States Olympic Trials, which will take place in Minneapolis from June 27th to June 30th.

Biles, on the other hand, would become the first American woman to make three Olympic gymnastics teams since Dominique Dawes if she were to make it to the Olympic squad after the trials.

“When I think about aging, I think of it as aging like fine wine,” Biles remarked. “It’s just growing farther and further, and better. But we’ll see. “It is my hope that we will be able to endure this for the remainder of the year.”
