On October 16, Penny Reep was out for a dental visit when she bought the winning ticket at a shop in Chicora, according to authorities from the Pennsylvania lottery; she was there for the appointment.

A lady from Pennsylvania who discovered that she had won $3 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket is now making preparations to accompany her husband, who is terminally ill, on the vacation of his dreams to Alaska.

According to a press statement issued by the Pennsylvania Lottery, Penny Reep, who is fifty years old and is from Armstrong County, made the purchase of the winning ticket on October 16 after making a stop at Rummy Mart located on South Main Street in Chicora.

During that particular day, the lady said that she had a dental appointment in Butler and that she had stopped into the shop “to exchange some winning entries.” She ended up winning a significant amount of money with one of the new tickets that she purchased, which was a $3 Million Diamonds and Gold ticket.

According to Penny, she scratched the $30 ticket and thought to herself, “I’m not seeing this right.” She then informed the lottery administrators. On the other hand, she discovered that she had won when she scanned it.

When Penny recounted the event, she said, “I grabbed the counter and started crying.” During the time when I was experiencing chest agony, I got the sensation that my feet were emerging from underneath me.

A week and a half later, Penny made her claim on the prize money. Now, she is making preparations to send her husband, who suffers from a “very rare” and incurable type of cancer, on the vacation of a lifetime which will take place in Alaska.

Coincidentally, Penny said, “It was always a pipe dream.” It is now going to be possible for me to provide him with all that he has always desired.

After going to the hospital in 2021 for what he thought was a hernia, Penny’s husband, Pat, was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, according to WTAE-TV, which is an affiliate of the Federal Communications Commission.

Later, medical professionals concluded that he was suffering from a rare kind of cancer that is generally encountered in youngsters. A removal of the tumor, which was almost the size of a football, was ultimately performed.

Penny informed the people in charge of the lottery, “We do not know how much longer we have with him.” Unfortunately, he is no longer able to work, and I have been making an effort to take care of him. However, I am also experiencing health issues.

Moving ahead, the pair is looking forward to the trips that they will be doing. Additionally, according to WTAE-TV, the couple had the intention of traveling to Massachusetts to see their grandkids.

In addition, Penny and Pat are thrilled to be able to give back “again.” It was reported by friends of the pair to the CBS station KDKA that the couple has devoted a significant portion of their life to helping other people.

In an interview with WTAE-TV, Penny said, “It has been a true struggle mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally, and now we are actually able to help give back again to people that helped us through our roughest time.”
