Mamie Laverock, who plays the role of Anna in When Calls the Heart, is now in serious condition after falling from a balcony walkway five floors above.

A “medical emergency” was the reason why the actress, who is 19 years old, was taken to a hospital in Winnipeg on May 11 by her mother, Nicole Compton. According to the GoFundMe account that her family started, the actress.

Following that, she was sent to a hospital in Vancouver, where she would remain for “upwards of a month or more,” as stated by her parents, Rob and Nicole. It was said at the time that her recovery was “unclear,” but that she was still alive and shown indications of progress throughout that period.

Currently, the Comptons have disclosed that their daughter “was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.” This information was disclosed in an update to the family’s GoFundMe campaign, which has already generated more than 11,000 Canadian dollars as of the 28th of May 2015.

Continuing, Rob and Nicole said that she had suffered injuries that were potentially fatal, that she had undergone a number of major operations, and that she is presently receiving life support. During this very trying period, each and every one of us is bereft and in a state of shock.

Following the tragic event, Erin Krakow, who plays Laverock in the film When Calls the Heart, placed a call to action on her Instagram account, with the intention of encouraging her fans to make a donation to the family’s fund. A donation has been made. It is my goal that you will also do so if you are in a position to do so. Krakow, who is 39 years old, posted the following beneath a snapshot of the GoFundMe page: “Link in bio.”

Johannah Newmarch, who portrays Molly Sullivan, Laverock’s on-screen mother, also expressed her support for the cause in a post that she made on X (which was then known as Twitter).

My heart is shattered because I love this family so much. A period that is heartbreaking for everyone who cares about Mamie. As of May 27th, Newmarch, who is 52 years old, stated, “Please help if you can.” “They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

The Hallmark company has been contacted by PEOPLE for a response.

Laverock made her debut in the professional world with a part in the film This Means War, which was released in 2012 and starred Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy. This was prior to her time spent on the Hallmark Channel. In spite of the fact that her impromptu appearance was eventually eliminated, she said in an interview with Ruth Hill’s blog Media from the Heart that the experience was “unbelievable.”

In the first two seasons of When Calls the Heart, Laverock played the character of nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan, which was a recurrent role for her acting career. The Young Artists Award for best performance in a television series was bestowed to her in 2015 for her depiction of Rosaleen in the Western drama.

Later on, in 2023, she returned to the program for the tenth season, playing the same character.

Aside from When Calls the Heart, the actress has also been in the Hallmark original film Wedding of Dreams, the horror film The Hollow Child, which was released in 2017, the Netflix original series A Series of Unfortunate Events, which will be released in 2019, and the Lifetime movie Spotlight on Christmas, which will be released in 2020.

When Calls the Heart is shown on the Hallmark Channel every Sunday at nine o’clock Eastern Time.
