In this open interview, Jenna Bush Hager discusses a significant regret she has from her life before she got married.
During the episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna that aired on Thursday, May 23, Bush Hager, who is 42 years old, discussed how she entered into a serious relationship with her now-husband Henry Chase Hager, who is 46 years old, when she was an extremely young age.
At the time of their wedding in 2008, which took place at her family’s lakeside property in Texas, the TV celebrity and former first daughter recalls being 26 years old. She was even younger when they first met, having initially been acquainted around the time that she became 23 years old.
I dated while I was in high school and when I was in college. However, I came to the realization that I did not date enough, which is something that Bush Hager revealed on the talk program.
This is what she proceeded to say: “I want to talk to my kids, not only to give them the Tracee Ellis Ross advice of ‘You’re the chooser,’ but also to tell them, ‘You don’t have to stay in a relationship if you’re not engaged in it.'” She went on to explain that she wants her children to learn from her experience. During the process of dismantling cultural expectations, Bush Hager made the following statement: “Girls are taught that, ‘Be careful or else you’ll get a bad reputation.'” But you are able to do both. You may date a large number of individuals while yet being loyal to who you are.
Kotb, who is 59 years old, concurred and said that individuals often have excessive expectations about the timing of dating.
It is my belief that individuals do, in fact, ask themselves, “What is wrong with me if I don’t meet somebody by this time or this time?” You are absolutely correct about dating and giving it a go. Kotb also said that not every individual with whom you have a connection is destined to last for a meaningful amount of time.
Bush Hager continued by saying, “I believe that when we were growing up, some of us had this dream of the prince.” Therefore, if I’m being really honest, I entered into relationships with the goal of determining whether or not this particular one would last. And at such a little age.”
During her time on the market when she was younger, Kotb reflected on her own feelings, saying, “When I first met someone, one of the things I used to think was, ‘Does he like me?'” Take for example the phrase “I so hope he likes me.” This is not the same as saying, “This is who I am.”

It was during her father’s tenure in the Oval Office from 2001 to 2009 that Bush Hager first became acquainted with her husband, who was working for her father, former President George W. Bush. In 2007, the pair announced their engagement, and the following year, on his birthday, they tied the knot. A celebration of their 15th wedding anniversary took place in May of last year.
In the beginning of this month, Hager posted a birthday message on Instagram that was dedicated to her spouse. During a musical date night, she shared a number of family images on her Instagram, one of which included the pair enjoying a tender kiss with each other.
