Sheldon’s elder brother and his family will be the primary subject of the upcoming film “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage,” which is scheduled to begin shooting this summer.
Despite the fact that Young Sheldon is leaving after seven seasons, the Cooper family will be returning to television in a short amount of time.
CBS has given the go-ahead for a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, which would center on Sheldon’s elder brother Georgie (played by Montana Jordan), his wife Mandy (played by Emily Osment), and their young family.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jordan and Osment discussed the next series, which is going to be titled Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. The two actors said that their enthusiasm about the future program helped to alleviate some of the emotional pain that they had when they had to part ways with Young Sheldon.
“I am thankful and blessed that they blessed us with this opportunity,” Jordan stated in reference to the spinoff, which is scheduled to begin filming this summer. “It kind of helps get your mind off of it a little bit.”
“It does, yes,” Osment in agreement said. “We’re fortunate in that way where we’ve got something sweet to look forward to.”
My desire is to be able to continue this tale with this person, and it’s my dream to be able to accomplish it…. I couldn’t be happier,” she said.
This is all that we are aware of about the forthcoming show:
Georgie and Mandy’s love story started in the fifth season of Young Sheldon, when the high school student’s connection with a lady who was 12 years his senior was greeted with disdain from both of their families. Nevertheless, when Mandy became pregnant, and finally gave birth to a beautiful girl whom they called Constance, after Meemaw, the pair decided to settle down and win everyone over with their wonderful and unorthodox relationship.
Fans are aware that the spinoff would center on the home life of the young family, which, as Big Bang Theory viewers are aware, will unfortunately result in divorce at some time. Despite this, not many further information have been disclosed, even to the actors themselves.
“It’s going to be a surprise for us as well,” said Osment in an interview with ET. “We don’t know until right before we start shooting.”
Osment and Jordan have said that they are expecting to have “good luck” from the process of filming the new show on the sound stage of The Big Bang Theory and having it premiere within the timeslot scheduled for Young Sheldon. This is despite the fact that they may not know anything at this time.
Jordan responded, “Young Sheldon, it was relatable,” and he was right. “I hope to see how people can relate to him, because I think that was a success of Young Sheldon.”

In May 2024, Osment announced to Entertainment Tonight that Rachel Bay Jones and would Sasso would also reprise their Young Sheldon roles as Mandy’s parents, Audrey and Jim McAllister, as series regulars on the new show. This is in addition to the fact that Osment and Jordan had already been confirmed to feature in the spinoff.
The fact that the program will begin up where Young Sheldon left off does not exclude the possibility that members of Georgie’s family would appear on their show, either in cameo appearances or in more significant parts.
For example, this may include Georgie’s mother, Mary (played by Zoe Perry), her sister Missy (played by Raegan Revord), Meemaw Connie (played by Annie Potts), and her lover Dale (played by Craig T. Nelson), amongst many others. However, The Big Bang Theory clearly hints that the bright physicist seldom comes home to Texas after going to California. It is also feasible that Sheldon, played by Iain Armitage, might make an infrequent visit on the show.
Potts seemed to believe that an appearance on the upcoming spinoff was a strong possibility when ET talked with the cast of Young Sheldon prior to the conclusion of the series.
“I might hear from them to come and visit but that is not that’s not written in any kind of stone yet,” she said in detail.
Additionally, there is the little daughter of Georgie and Mandy, who is affectionately referred to as “CeeCee,” as well as any other children that the couple may have.
Jordan and Osment disclosed to Entertainment Tonight that the production of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage was scheduled to start in July of 2024, and that the show was ordered for the television series that would air between 2024 and 2025.
The project is being produced by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland, all of whom have previously produced The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. The series will be filmed in front of a studio audience, similar to how The Big Bang Theory was shot.
