A two-hour special that will air on NBC will be Fallon’s way of commemorating the achievement.
This is the tenth and last step! On Tuesday, Jimmy Fallon will celebrate ten years as the host of The Tonight Show. In order to commemorate this momentous occasion, he will be sitting down with ET for an interview entitled “rETrospective.”

In a career that started long before he broke into the national limelight when he joined Saturday Night Live as a cast member in 1998, the late-night TV host, who is now 49 years old, is reflecting on some of the most famous events that he has experienced over his long and illustrious career. While he was performing at the Improv for Mary Hart’s 15th anniversary celebration, ET was right there with him. This was a long time before he was found.

Over the course of the last several decades, Fallon has become a household name and has become associated with belly laughter. He was given the role of host of The Tonight Show in 2014, and he is eager to take on the task of surpassing Johnny Carson, who passed away, as the presenter of the well-known late-night program with the longest stay there.

“All right, this is ten years ago. “Johnny is thirty years old, which means I still have twenty years to go,” Fallon said. “I am in a really good mood. The work that I perform continues to bring me joy. I like having conversations with other people. As a result of the fact that I have grown up with these individuals and have seen their highs and lows, I get the impression that it is becoming even more enjoyable now. I’ve had lovers that were terrible. Good boyfriends have been witnessed by me. They have been married, they have children, and I have seen the children growing up. I mean, I’ve seen a lot of things in the ten years that I’ve been a part of The Tonight Show, and I’d want to continue performing for a longer period of time so that I can continue to make more memories and make more friends. To put it simply, it’s a dream come true.”
A primetime NBC special commemorating Fallon’s tenth anniversary will be hosted by Fallon as a way to mark the important milestone. When Fallon was a child, he would beg his parents if he could stay up late to watch Carson’s monologue before going to bed. This was the very first time that Fallon had ever performed a monologue on the Tonight Show. According to him, there were times when he would move to the side of the room in order to conceal his presence from his parents, all for the purpose of catching a glimpse of the first guest.

And here he is, having become the public face of a legendary NBC franchise.

“Once again, I’m very fortunate to be having The Tonight Show.” I just want to keep it rolling and make sure that everyone is having a good time,” he said regarding the show. “Good things keep happening to the show.” “Our whole goal of the show is to make people laugh and to make people happy, and if I can do it for as long as I can, that’ll be the best thing for me.”

During his career, Fallon has delivered a multitude of moments that will live long in the memory. Comparable to the year 2015, when Tom Cruise and Jimmy Fallon engaged in a lip sync duel that was really spectacular. At the time, Cruise chose a song that was currently at the top of the charts for his first selection. He was particularly impressed with The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.”

What I mean is, come on. On this particular day, Tom Cruise put in five hours of rehearsal for this,” Fallon remembered. “I wasn’t allowed to go into the studio ’cause he’s such a perfectionist, and I didn’t want to know.”

Whether it was his memorable Saturday Night Live sketches, his landing of the role of “camera guy No. 2” on Spin City, or the fact that he met his future wife, Nancy Juvonen, and the mother of their two children while filming the 2005 sports rom-com Fever Pitch, Fallon was captivated by the fact that ET had been there since the very beginning.

For the whole of my professional life, ET has been there for me. It was before I had even done anything that you were there. It is a privilege. He said that it was an incredible journey down memory lane. I am fortunate. People who are supportive of me, who make me seem good, and who make me humorous, and who create amazing jokes, surround me. I am surrounded by wonderful people. I have the best team, the best personnel, the best camera operators, the best audio recorders, the best clothing, and the greatest hair and makeup artists. It is without end. I am the luckiest man in the whole, wide universe.

For the occasion of Jimmy Fallon’s tenth anniversary as host of The Tonight Show, NBC will broadcast a two-hour special on Tuesday evening at nine o’clock Eastern Time.
