On October 16, Penny Reep was out for a dental visit when she bought the winning ticket at a shop in Chicora, according to authorities from the Pennsylvania lottery; she was there for the appointment.

A lady from Pennsylvania who discovered that she had won $3 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket is now making preparations to accompany her husband, who is terminally ill, on the vacation of his dreams to Alaska.

According to a press statement issued by the Pennsylvania Lottery, Penny Reep, who is fifty years old and is from Armstrong County, made the purchase of the winning ticket on October 16 after making a stop at Rummy Mart located on South Main Street in Chicora.

The lady said that she had a dental appointment in Butler on that particular day and that she stopped by the shop “to exchange some winning tickets.” One of the new tickets that she purchased, which was titled $3 Million Diamonds and Gold, ended up being a significant winner.

Penny informed the administrators of the lottery that she scratched the $30 ticket and said, “I’m not seeing this right.” However, when she scanned the ticket, she determined that she had won the jackpot.

Penny recounted, “I grabbed the counter and started crying. I had chest pain and it felt like my feet were coming out from underneath me.” Penny was experiencing a terrible ache in her chest.

Penny was able to collect her prize three days later, and she is now making preparations to send her husband, who suffers from a “very rare” and incurable type of cancer, on the vacation of a lifetime which will take place in Alaska.

Penny said, “It was always a pipe dream. Now, I’m going to be able to give him everything he’s always wanted.” Penny’s statement was a prediction.

After going to the hospital in 2021 for what he thought was a hernia, Penny’s husband, Pat, was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, according to WTAE-TV, which is an affiliate of the Federal Communications Commission.

Later on, the doctors established that he was suffering from a rare kind of cancer that is generally prevalent in youngsters. The tumor, which was around the size of a football, was finally destroyed.

Penny told lottery officials, “We don’t know how long we have with him. He’s no longer able to work, and I’ve been trying to take care of him, but I’m also having health problems.” Penny admitted that she was experiencing health issues.

Now, the couple is looking forward to their forthcoming trips, and according to WTAE-TV, they also have the intention of paying a visit to their grandkids who live in Massachusetts.

Both Penny and Pat are thrilled to be able to give back “again.” According to friends of the pair, who spoke to the CBS station KDKA, the couple has spent a significant portion of their life participating in charitable activities.

In an interview with WTAE-TV, Penny said, “It has been a true struggle mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally, and now we are actually able to help give back again to people that helped us through our roughest time.”
