The royal couple, Kate Middleton and Prince William, are commemorating their wedding anniversary by taking a unique peek inside their big day.
The Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated their thirteenth wedding anniversary on April 29 by releasing a photograph from their wedding day that had not been seen before. This was done in order to commemorate the event.
A statement that read “13 years ago today!” was included on the photograph that was published throughout the social media accounts of the pair.
The black-and-white photograph showed Prince William and Princess Kate smiling and standing together. The royal bride was seen carrying her bouquet, which was mostly composed of lily of the valley, which is Queen Elizabeth’s favorite flower.
During the church ceremony that took place at Westminster Abbey, Kate donned a white V-neck gown with a lace overlay designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She also wore the Cartier Halo Tiara that Queen Elizabeth wore.
Concurrently, Prince William was wearing a different clothing from the one he had worn at the wedding. Later on, the groom changed into the black uniform of the Blues and Royals, which can be seen in the new picture. Initially, the groom wore the red tunic of the Irish Guards, of which he was the Colonel in Chief at the time of the wedding. However, Princess Kate took over the post from her husband in 2022.

Millie Pilkington is the one who is credited with creating the new advertisement. The image of King Charles and Queen Camilla, which was issued to commemorate the first anniversary of their coronation, was taken by the portrait photographer not too long ago. Additionally, she made her debut behind the camera in the previous year by photographing birthday photos of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the three children of Prince William and Kate.
“Wishing the @princeandprincessofwales the very happiest wedding anniversary,” Pilkington said on her Instagram account, where she was sharing the newly revealed wedding photo. To this day, I still find it hard to comprehend that I took this photo thirteen years ago, practically to the hour. The fact that they would want to share it is both a source of excitement and honor.
Westminster Abbey also commemorated the anniversary of Prince William and Princess Kate by posting a video on social media showing the newlyweds leaving the London landmark after their wedding ceremony in 2011. The event took place in 2011. Just prior to the pair being carried away for a journey in a horse-drawn carriage, the bells rang out as onlookers clapped for them. After them came their gorgeous bridal party, which included their siblings, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton. They were followed by their parents.
In 2001, Prince William, now 41 years old, and Princess Kate, now 42 years old, met when they were both attending the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. They went on to be married on April 29, 2011. On the day of their wedding, Queen Elizabeth bestowed upon them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Subsequently, the pair went on to become parents to three children: Prince George, who is now ten years old, Princess Charlotte, who is eight years old, and Prince Louis, who was six years old only a week ago.

It is not long after Prince William resumed public responsibilities for the first time since Princess Kate disclosed that she is getting treatment for cancer that the anniversary of the Prince and Princess of Wales takes place. The Princess of Wales made the announcement in a statement that she had written herself and which was made available via video on March 22. In the speech, she revealed that post-operative tests that were performed after her stomach surgery “found cancer had been present.”
The mother of the royal family said that she and Prince William took the opportunity to “explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”
Following the news, Prince William cleared his schedule to be at his wife’s side, much as he did after her abdominal surgery in January. He also made his first public engagement after his children returned to school after the Easter break followed by the announcement.
According to a longstanding family friend who spoke to People shortly after Princess Kate made the public news about her health, the Prince of Wales is a tower of support for her.
“He is a guy who is incredibly dependable and powerful. Because William is standing right next to her, she does not experience feelings of isolation in this situation, according to the buddy.
In her video message, Princess Kate said that Prince William is “a great source of comfort and reassurance” throughout her treatment. This emotion was matched by the sentiment expressed by the recipient.
“The purpose of this is to provide her with assistance and let her feel supported. It is a collaborative effort. According to the insider, she does not experience any isolation at all. “The nuclear family that they have created so well is an immense support not only to him but to Catherine too.”
The royal couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary by releasing a new portrait in April of 2023. This event recognized the occasion.
A photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales riding bicycles with their arms around each other was accompanied by the words “12 years ❤️,” which were written underneath the picture.
The shot was taken by photographer Matt Porteous in the countryside of Norfolk in the year 2022. It was a part of a series of photographs that Porteous had taken in the past of the family when they were in that location.
It is well knowledge that Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children spend a significant amount of time at their country house, Anmer Hall. Anmer Hall is a portion of the Sandringham estate that belongs to the royal family, and it is thought that this is the place where Kate feels the most at ease.
