In December of 2009, the actress passed away all of a sudden. 32 was her age.
Almost fifteen years after her passing, Brittany Murphy’s co-stars continue to recall her presence in their lives.

During a touching interview that took place on the Still Here Hollywood podcast, which was hosted by Steve Kmetko, actor Breckin Meyer recounted his abiding recollections of his late co-star from the original Clueless.

In light of her premature loss, he voiced his sadness at not being able to see what Murphy might have done in the years that followed. He was unable to see what Murphy may have accomplished. Despite the fact that Britt passed away when she was an adult, she is one of those individuals that I never stop thinking about. As he expressed, “I wish I could see what she would have done now if she had been alive.”

Murphy passed away on December 20, 2009, on account of a collapse that occurred in the toilet of her house in the Hollywood Hills. After further investigation, the coroner for Los Angeles County came to the conclusion that the actress had passed away as a result of pneumonia, anemia, and “multiple drug intoxication” from using both prescription and over-the-counter medications. 32 was her age.

Murphy’s diverse skills were lovingly recalled by the actor, who used the opportunity to emphasize her remarkable singing ability and speculated on the possibility of her crossing into the music and film industries. “Brittany was so crazy talented, and only the surface had been dealt with,” he said with enthusiasm. “She was such a good singer, and seeing how many people cross over into music and movies, I was like, ‘Oh, I would have loved to see Brittany do that.'”

At the beginning of the 1990s, Murphy made his debut in the music industry by forming the band Blessed Soul with fellow actor Eric Balfour.

Subsequently, on June 6, 2006, Murphy collaborated with Paul Oakenfold, a well-known DJ and producer, to release the song “Faster Kill Pussycat” from the album A Lively Mind. A club phenomenon, the song shot straight to the top of the Hot Dance Club Play chart on Billboard. It gathered momentum very fast and became a tremendous success. In addition to this, it was immensely successful in Oakenfold’s native country, the United Kingdom, where it peaked at the seventh position on the charts in the month of June in 2006.

Murphy played the role of Tai Frasier, the attractive new student who attracts the interest of Meyer’s character, Travis Birkenstock, in the film Clueless directed by Danny Meyer. Meyer referred to the process of auditioning for the film as “easy,” taking into consideration the fact that he had previously worked with Murphy on screen. Furthermore, Meyer said that they continued to work together on the animated series King of the Hill for a period of eight years, indicating that their professional partnership went beyond the Clueless project.

A time at Ryan Phillippe’s home, which is situated close to Murphy’s property, when the sound of sirens caught them by surprise was recalled by Meyer as he described the shock and sadness that they experienced as a result of Murphy’s passing. According to his recollection, “When we all heard, it was terrible.” For the sake of elucidating Murphy’s bubbly nature, he compared her to “a bottle of soda” and expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her loss, focusing specifically on the poisonous relationship she was involved in.

During the year 2019, ten years after Murphy’s untimely passing, Meyer turned to Instagram to post a touching homage along with a black-and-white video footage of the two of them working together.

“10 years ago this magical, fantabulous angel left us WAY too early,” Meyer said in his memoir. She had an incredible amount of skill and was the cutest little fairy you could ever want to meet. To be really honest, Travis gives Tai a kiss on the head because Brit and I had known each other for years prior to the release of Clueless, and she has always been like a little sister to me.” I thought about Brit a lot today. This is Brittany Murphy.

On the set of the adolescent romantic comedy Clueless, which was released in 1995, ET had the opportunity to speak with Murphy about his role in the film. In addition, the remaining members of the cast expressed their opinions and enthusiasm.
