This past Saturday, the rapper, who is 51 years old, posted a picture of his 16-year chip on Instagram.
This is just another significant achievement that Eminem is celebrating.
Saturday was the day that the rapper known as “Godzilla” went to Instagram to showcase his most recent achievement in his fight toward sobriety: the 16-year chip he has been wearing.
The post that was made by the performer, who is 51 years old, showed him putting out his hand with the silver Alcoholics Anonymous coin that was part of the celebration of the milestone. The coin included the number 16 inside of a triangle, which represented the three pillars of the organization, which are unity, service, and recovery.
Eminem, whose actual name is Marshall Mathers, decided not to add a caption to the shot, allowing the chip to speak for itself instead. On the other hand, his message was received with an outpouring of love and support from a number of his friends and followers.
Paul Rosenberg, who has been Eminem’s music manager and business partner for all of his career, was one of the people who cheered for the rapper and commented, “Sweet 16.” You have my utmost envy.
Nathan “Nate” Mathers, his brother, also responded to the message, adding, “Greatest Influence and Mentor 🔥🔥.”
After years of dealing with addiction to Vicodin and Valium, the musician known as “Rap God” had a drug overdose that came dangerously close to taking his life in 2007.
In an interview with Men’s Journal in 2015, Eminem claimed that he was able to successfully quit his addiction by substituting physical activity, notably jogging, for his behavior of substance abuse.
“When I got out of rehab, I needed to lose weight, but I also needed to figure out a way to function sober,” he said at the time of his admission. It was difficult for me to fall asleep, unless I was completely blown out of my mind. And with that, I began to run. It not only helped me go to sleep, but it also provided me a natural endorphin high, so it was the ideal combination.
“It’s easy to understand how people replace addiction with exercise,” according to the researcher. “One addiction for another, but one that’s good for them.”
In the meanwhile, the sixteen-year milestone comes only a few days after Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, who is 28 years old, came to Tampa Bay, Florida, with her sister, Alaina Marie Mathers, who is 30 years old, and a few friends to celebrate Hailie’s bachelorette party.
In February of 2023, Hailie announced her engagement to Evan McClintock, her longtime boyfriend. Watch the video below to learn more about the journey that the ladies went on.
