The joyful 100th show was remembered in a special that broadcast on Sunday; unfortunately, the program was cut short during the last song of the event.
There will soon be a return of The Piano Man to living rooms all around the United States!

In the wake of an unfortunate event that resulted in the early termination of Billy Joel’s record-breaking performance special that was broadcast on Sunday, CBS has stated that it will re-air the program and play it in its entirety on Friday, April 19.

“A network programming timing error ended last night’s Billy Joel special approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones,” according to the statement sent to ET. Our sincere apologies go out to Mr. Joel, his devoted followers, the stations with whom we are associated, and the members of our audience whose watching experience was disrupted during the last song. BILLY JOEL: THE 100TH – LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN will be repeated in its entirety on CBS on April 19 at 9:00 PM Eastern Time and Pacific Time. This decision was made in response to the tremendous demand from his army of enthusiastic fans.

Immediately after the broadcast, the performance will be available to watch on Paramount+ for fans to enjoy.

Joel, who is 74 years old, was in the midst of his last number of “Piano Man” when the special cut and the local news started in various areas around the nation. On March 28, the special was taped at the 100th gig of the GRAMMY-winning artist, which was held at Madison Square Garden and was completely sold out. During the momentous occasion, Joel gave a performance of a number of his classics, which included “Uptown Girl,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “Big Shot,” and “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me.”

Jerry Seinfeld and Sting were among the special guests that attended.

This month’s 100th concert, which is a part of what has been referred to as “The Greatest Arena Run of All Time,” takes place just before Joel reaches the conclusion of his tenure at the New York City arena after ten years. During the year 2014, Joel started performing in the Garden on a monthly basis. Joel said in June 2023 that he would formally terminate his candidacy at MSG in July, which will coincide with his 150th performance at the organization.

That it survived for as long as it did is something that I find quite surprising. During that time period, the singer issued a statement in which she said, “My team has informed me that we have the potential to continue selling tickets; however, ten years and 150 shows are already done.”

There is no doubt in my mind that the first time we performed at Madison Square Garden was the zenith of my professional career. ‘My God, I’m going to be performing in Madison Square Garden as the headlining act.’ Each and every person on the planet is aware that when you perform The Garden, you are not just playing in New York. I would want to express my gratitude to our audience for continuing to attend our concerts for such a long time. Even after 150 lifetime concerts, it is difficult to come to an end. All I want to do is express my gratitude to everyone for the fantastic event that has taken place here,” he said.

There is no longer any available tickets for the dates that are leading up to the last concert, as well as for the final show itself.

As is the case with Joel’s admirers, his family, which includes his wife Alexis Roderick and their daughters Della Rose, 8, and Remy Anne, 6, each have their own personal favorites among his songs. Because of this, people make fun of him.

“So, we have a lot of Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, and Olivia Rodrigo, but they’re his biggest fans,” Roderick said to ET in February at the 2024 GRAMMYs in reference to their children listening to his music at home. “All right, so. They are eager to hear it on a consistent basis.

There is a possibility that they are doing it because they like it, but I believe that they are doing it to
