Meredith Scheffler, Scottie Scheffler’s wife, received a surprise letter from him as he celebrated his victory in the big leagues this week.

The golfing superstar won the Masters competition at Augusta, Georgia, on April 14, 2024. He finished the tournament with a score of -11, which allowed him to capture his second major victory. It was during his winning speech that he addressed Meredith, who was absent from the tournament due to the fact that she is expecting their first child.

He reportedly told her, “I love you, sweetheart,” as reported by Golf Digest on Instagram. “I can’t wait for the next several weeks to come around. I should be able to make it home as quickly as I possibly can.

“I love you and I’m coming home,” he concluded, as reported by the Professional Golf Union (PGA).

Following his victory at the Masters in 2022, Scottie’s victory at this competition was his second victory at Augusta in the span of three years.

According to Golfweek, Scottie has previously said to media that he would take a leave of absence from the tournament in the event that his wife went into delivery.

“You should definitely have a method to get home at a reasonable speed. In the event that this is acceptable, we have someone in this room who is able to use their mobile phone. In addition, he said, “Yes, I will be available to go home whenever it is necessary for me to do so.”

After four years of dating long distance while they were attending their different institutions, the professional golfer and his high school love finally sealed the marriage in the year 2020. Despite the fact that Meredith and Scottie were initially simply friends, she has been at Scottie’s side from the very beginning.

“At the beginning of high school I always thought he had a super humble ambiance about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” Meredith told Golf Digest of her husband’s personality.

When she cheered him on when he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March 2024 while he was sporting a substantial baby belly, the fact that Scottie and Meredith are having their first child was first made public.

“It’s going to be wild,” the speaker said. “I don’t think either of us has quite yet experienced it, maybe at some point in the future when the baby is moving around a lot in her stomach, but it’s an exciting time for us as a family,” Scottie said in an interview with PGA Tour Sirius/XM Radio, which was reported by Golf Week.

He continued by saying, “It has been a pretty exciting last seven months or so, and we are looking forward to hopefully getting the baby out of there nice and healthy and with a healthy momma, and then we will proceed from there.”

“If she calls me while I’m on the 17th, then I better go home,” Scheffler said in an interview with ESPN in April, just before to his significant victory at the Masters competition, which will take place this coming weekend.
