Despite the fact that he is receiving honors left and right, Jelly Roll is still able to find time to concentrate on his road toward better health.

One month before his participation in the 2 Bears 5K with Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on May 7, the country music singer has been putting in a lot of effort to improve his physical condition, and as a consequence, he is feeling great.

To PEOPLE, Jelly, who is 39 years old, says, “I’m probably down seventy-something pounds.” “Man, things have been going extremely well for me. From four to six days a week, I am running between two and three miles each day. My daily routine consists of spending twenty to thirty minutes in the sauna and six minutes in a cold plunge. Currently, I am consuming nutritious food.

The individual who is referred to as “Need a Favor” is pleased with his development and intends to continue with the lifestyle change. “I am actually in a great mood,” he adds. As I was thinking about it, I had a strategy to lose another one hundred or one hundred and something pounds. If I am able to feel this wonderful while losing this amount of weight, man, I can only think how I will feel by the time I go on tour.

Jelly has already been honored with three iHeartRadio Music Awards and two CMT Music Awards this year. In addition, he has just been nominated for his first four American Country Music Awards, which will be presented at the event that will take place on May 16th, 2024. Following that, he will give performances at a few music festivals throughout the summer before beginning his big Beautifully Broken Tour in the subsequent month of August.

During the performances, which he will be performing with artists Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay, the performer of “Save Me” is looking forward to meeting the fans who have been there for him during his spectacular ascent to popularity over the last few years. He is delighted to see them in person. “I’m looking forward to being able to show them my gratitude in person,” he adds in response.

Man, I am aware that my music has a variety of effects on various individuals. I have always stated this, and I mean it. This is hardly the kind of music that you would listen to while lounging by the pool on a Saturday,” Jelly continues. “My music is something that you listen to that truly helps you get through anything, and it means a great deal to be able to stand in front of them and meet as many of them as I can every night. I have a deep desire to eat lunch with anybody who has ever been influenced by my music.

A artist who has been nominated for a Grammy gave an interview to PEOPLE in February, during which he discussed his participation in the forthcoming 5K and said that he is not seeking to complete the race faster than anybody else.

“I don’t know if ‘running’ is going to be the word, but I’m definitely going to get the 3.1 miles done — probably a brisk power walk,” he said at the time of his announcement. “My goal is to be able to do a 15-minute mile.”

Jelly also said that his wife, Bunnie Xo, will participate in the 5K that will take place the following month; however, it is quite probable that she will be there as a spectator rather than as a competitor.

“Poor thing, she’d have to walk so slow compared to how fast she does 3.1 miles,” he said with laughter. I am going to be panting and puffing a little bit if I am going to run a mile in fifteen minutes. A mile that takes Bunnie fifteen minutes to complete is considered to be her sauntering.
