The loss of DJ Mister Cee, a key figure in the radio culture of hip hop, has occurred… It has been verified by TMZ.
In order to commemorate Mister Cee’s life and achievements, Hot 97, the radio station where he established his own foundation, issued a statement that was filled with emotion. “The demise of our much loved Mister Cee has left us at HOT 97 and WBLS in a state of profound grief as a family community. His iconic shows on ‘Throwback at Noon and Friday Night Live’ brought a great deal of happiness to a large number of listeners. He was more than simply a DJ; he was a cornerstone of our stations.
A further statement from the station states, “Mr. Cee’s influence extended far beyond the airwaves, thereby shaping the very fabric of DJ culture in New York City.” We are sending our love and sympathies to his family as well as the fans whose lives he touched via his music. Our hearts are heavy as we are sending these messages. Mr. Cee, you may relax now. Your legacy will endure for all of eternity.

In 2011, while Cee was facing a number of legal issues, 50 Cent, who had previously protected him, was one of the renowned hip hop mourners who paid tribute to Cee’s contributions to the culture.
Cee, who was born Calvin LeBrun in Brooklyn, began his career as a deejay for Big Daddy Kane. However, he is mostly recognized for finding Notorious B.I.G. in the early 1990s, prior to his signing with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. His mixtape, titled “Best of Biggie,” is widely regarded as one of the most impressive street projects ever produced.
At the time of his passing, Cee was still working hard at the radio station and posting his radio mixes to his Soundcloud account. He had been doing this for quite some time. “The Finisher” was the nickname that was given to him, but his legacy will definitely go on forever.
