When the engine of a Boeing 737 seemed to be on the verge of breaking down, the pilot of the aircraft had to apply the brakes as fast as possible, and the whole incident was captured on tape.
When the Southwest Airlines aircraft that was departing from Denver and going to Houston took off on Sunday morning, several of the passengers saw that a piece of metal had been pulled off the side of the plane and was flapping about as the jet started to take off.

Take a look at the footage; the engine cowling that covers the sides of the enormous turbine flies up, seeming to be held together by little more than a few stray strands of metal. At first, the jet does not slow down at all.
The pilots, however, brought the aircraft to a stop by gradually rolling it to a standstill with the turbine nearly totally exposed. This occurred after the component broke apart and flew away.
Southwest Airlines has informed TMZ that the passengers on board were able to safely disembark the aircraft and join another aircraft, which allowed them to arrive in Houston around three hours after their first expected arrival time. According to the airline, it is now investigating the mechanical breakdown.
Remember that only one month ago, a United Airlines Boeing 777 lost a tire immediately as it took off, causing numerous vehicles below to be smashed. This is just the latest in a string of technical problems that Boeing is experiencing.
And of course, the door of a separate jet blew out during one flight, which resulted in the 737 Max 9 having to make an emergency landing in Portland… so, this most recent problem seems to be more of the same as it has been in the past for the company that manufactures airplanes.
We suppose that everything turns out okay in the end, but it’s possible that some individuals are revising their plans for the approaching trip.
