Through her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, the ‘Clueless’ actress is the mother of her son, who is 12 years old.
Before he officially reaches his teenage years, Alicia Silverstone is making the most of the time she has with her son, Bear Blu Jarecki, by experiencing some quality time together.
She showed off the highlights of her vacation to Costa Rica with her son, whom she shares with her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, in a series of images that she shared to Instagram on Thursday. The actress, who is 47 years old, gave the photos credit to Christopher Jarecki. In the photographs, the mother and boy are shown basking in the warmth of the sun, participating in rafting activities with a huge group, and leaping from rocks as well as into the sparkling water. The journey takes place only a few weeks before Bear’s birthday, which is on May 5 and he will be 13 years old.
“Eating delicious food… white water rafting… and spending quality time with my son. 🥰 Costa Rica has amazing [sic] so far!” she said in the message that accompanying the photo.
Silverstone, who had been married to her musician husband for over 13 years until the couple divorced in 2018, is seen in one of the slides showing severe reluctance to leap from the rocks and into the sea below. This is a hilarious moment. Before she warily approaches the edge of the ledge, she first observes her daring kid leaping off the little cliff. After that, she nervously looks over her shoulder. The next slide finally depicts the Batman and Robin star taking a leap of faith as the people surrounding her, including her son, who is 12 years old, cheer her on.
There are a number of photographs that serve as proof of her fantastic trip, including one in which she sits for a selfie with Bear, wades in the water at the foot of a natural waterslide, and displays other photographs of some of the delectable meals that they had while they were on vacation.
She often talks about the strong kinship that she and Bear have, since Bear is Silverstone’s only child. She gave an interview to ET in May 2022, when she was attending the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s Senior Year. In the interview, she described the moment when she showed Bear Clueless for the very first time. During the time when the legendary movie was being shown at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Silverstone claimed that he was only five years old. She made the decision that it was a chance that must not be missed since it was beyond her capabilities.
“He was so young and it’s not appropriate, I think, for a 5-year-old to watch that movie… it’s all about sex and stuff, so I just realized, ‘Oops,'” she said in her memory. “But, at the time… he loved it, but what he really picked up [on is] he tried to kiss me, like, passionate kisses, because that’s what he saw in the movie.”
Just two months later, the actress made waves when she revealed, during an interview on The Ellen Fisher Podcast, how physically close she and her son, who was 11 years old at the time, truly are.
She informed the presenter, Ellen Fisher, that she and Bear continue to share a bed together. “And I’ll be in trouble for saying that but I don’t really care.”
She continued by saying, “I just do what comes naturally to me.” I believe in love and I believe in nature. I am a natural mother and I am a loving mother. I believe in both of these things. And our culture is terrified of both the natural world and the concept of love.
In the year 2020, she made an interview with ET in which she discussed their natural lifestyle and how Bear, who was a plant-based child, had only been ill a few times. When Bear was nine years old, she expressed her satisfaction in the fact that he had never been prescribed antibiotics. She also said that the most he had to cope with was a “snot nose” from time to time.
“He is such a wonderful depiction of health. She said that this is a youngster that maintains a plant-based diet. “To have never required antibiotics in the last nine years, and to have never required any form of medical intervention… As a result of the prevalence of ear infections in children, they are often prescribed medication. What I’m trying to convey is that he doesn’t need it, but I’m not saying that I wouldn’t give it to him.
