The disappearance of two ladies in western Oklahoma is being investigated by the authorities. The two women were last seen together in a car, which was subsequently discovered abandoned in a remote location close to the highway during the investigation. The original statement made by law police was that Veronica Butler, who was 27 years old, and Jilian Kelley, who was 39 years old, went missing under “suspicious” circumstances. During the course of the inquiry, it became clear that there is evidence that points to the presence of criminal activity.

In a statement that was published on social media on Wednesday afternoon, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said, “Our investigators believe there was evidence to indicate foul play based on the information obtained from the victim’s vehicle.” Despite the fact that they disappeared over the weekend, there have been no arrests made.

An investigation into the disappearance of the ladies was requested by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, whose jurisdiction encompasses the remote region of the Oklahoma panhandle where the women’s vehicle was found. On Sunday, the state investigative bureau made the announcement that it will initiate an investigation into the disappearance of the women.

On Saturday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for Butler and Kelley. The advisory was issued on behalf of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. According to that notice, both of the ladies were considered to be “at-risk,” but very little information has been made public on the circumstances that led up to their disappearance.

According to the missing persons warning, Butler and Kelley were “traveling to pick up children” before they disappeared. The report also said that neither of them “made it to the pick up location.” Their vehicle was discovered abandoned on the side of the road close to Oklahoma State Highway 95, which is located just south of Elkhart, Kansas, and just over the border of Oklahoma.

Not only did the Highway Patrol publish textual descriptions of the ladies, but they also published photographs of Butler and Kelley. In accordance with the notice, Butler is described as having a height of 5 feet 4 inches, having green eyes and red hair, and wearing a blue short-sleeved blouse, denim shorts, and shoes manufactured by the Hey Dude brand at the time of her disappearance. In addition, she has a number of tattoos, one of which is a Chinese sign that is located on her left forearm, and another is a sunflower that is located there.

Kelley is described as having brown hair and blue eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a blouse with long sleeves, blue pants that had been washed with white, and shoes that were either tan or beige in color. The butterfly tattoo that Kelley has on her left forearm is a butterfly.

For the purpose of locating Butler and Kelley, state investigators have said that they are collaborating with local law enforcement organizations. They have requested that anybody who may have information on the whereabouts of the ladies get in touch with the agency.

CBS News attempted to get in touch with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation in order to get further information on the disappearance of the ladies and the case of missing people; however, they did not receive a response right away.
