’10 Things I Hate About You’ actress is already a mother to her son Strummer Newcomb, who is six years old, and her daughter Arlo, who is two years old.

Five of us in total! The news that Julia Stiles and her husband, Preston J. Cook, have had their third child is being revealed by the actress.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, the actress, who is 43 years old, casually disclosed the announcement of the new member of her family as she was promoting her first directorial effort, titled Wish You Were Here.

In an interview with the publication, the star of “10 Things I Hate About You” said, “I’m kind of like a bundle of emotions because I have a baby who is five months old and I went into directing my first movie.”

She claims that she just “didn’t really talk about it” when it comes to the secrecy and the reluctance to reveal the birth or the pregnancy entirely. There was no mention of the baby’s gender or name from Stiles.

Stiles and Cook already have two children, a boy named Strummer Newcomb who is six years old and a daughter named Arlo who is two years old. They have a somewhat secluded life.

The actress from Save the Last Dance was successful in concealing the fact that she was pregnant from the general public; nevertheless, she did make the announcement that Arlo was born in January of 2022.

Baby Arlo, you have become a part of the world! ✨ With a picture of her child’s feet, she captioned it, “The newest addition to our family, reminding me how infinite love can be. 💖”

Both Stiles and Cook were married in September of 2017, having first met when Cook was working as a camera assistant on Stiles’ film, Go With Me, which was released in 2015. They became parents to Strummer exactly one month after they had tied the knot. “Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?” the actress said in a humorous tone while uploading a photo of her and her husband’s beach wedding on Instagram. The image clearly displayed her growing baby bulge.

During the spring of 2023, rumors started to circulate that Stiles was expecting a child; however, the actress never commented on the stories that were circulating about a possible new member joining her team. In December, she made an appearance on Saturday Night Live, when she reprised her performance from Save the Last Dance in a skit with Chloe Fineman, putting an end to some of the conjecture that had been going around earlier. She did not display any signs of pregnancy during that event, and she did not make any mention to the press reports that speculated she was expecting her third child. Instead, she donned a dancer’s leotard throughout her performance.
