Anne Hathaway is revealing some personal details about a challenging situation.

Vanity Fair recently conducted an interview with the 41-year-old actress who plays the role of Idea of You. In the conversation, she expounded on an Instagram post she published in 2019, in which she proudly revealed that she was expecting her second child.

Hathaway wrote, “It’s not for a movie…” in the caption of a black-and-white shot where she was showing off her growing baby bulge. To put all of this aside, I want to make sure that anybody who is going through the ordeal of infertility and conception hell is aware that it was not a direct path that led to either of my babies. More love and best wishes to you.”

“Given the pain I felt while trying to get pregnant, it would have felt disingenuous to post something all the way happy when I know the story is much more nuanced than that for everyone,” the celebrity stated when she was questioned about that particular time.

Hathaway went on to disclose that she had a miscarriage in 2015 when she was performing in the one-woman off-Broadway production Grounded, which lasted for a period of six weeks.

The very first time, things did not go according to plan for me. “At the time, I was performing a play, and I had to give birth onstage every night,” she recounted. She went on to say that while she had concealed the fact that she had lost her baby, she did reveal the truth to her friends when they came to see her backstage. “It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage pretending everything was fine.”

“If I didn’t choose to be honest, I would have…Having been on the other side of the situation, where you need to have the grace to be happy for someone else, I wanted to let my sisters know that they do not always need to be gracious. This was something I wanted to convey to them when things went well for me. “I am with you and I see you,” she said.

“It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong,” Hathaway said in addition.

With her husband, Adam Shulman, Hathaway has two sons: Jack, who is four years old, and Jonathan, who is eight years old.

In November, the celebrity made an appearance on the cover of PORTER, the digital title of NET-A-PORTER, and provided a glimpse into her life away from the public eye, when she was spending time with her family of four.

The mother of two stated, “It’s something I feel is not just essential for my health – I’m on a team, it’s my family, and it’s not just about me.” She was referring to the fact that she maintains a separation between her personal life and her public life.

“My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives,” the mother who resides in New York stated. “My family has needs.” “The idea of linking the two does not even occur to me, other than to express thankfulness for the fact that they complement each other in such a wonderful way. Instead of serving each other via a realm that is external to me, however, they serve each other through myself.
