As of right now, the actress is promoting the second season of her program, “Loot,” which is available on Apple TV+.
The reason why fans are clamoring so arduously for a Bridesmaids sequel is something that Maya Rudolph is aware of.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) that took place before to the debut of the second season of her program on Apple TV+, Loot, the 51-year-old former cast member of Saturday Night Live addressed recent remarks made by her co-star and friend, Kristen Wiig, on the possibility of a sequel to the comedy that was released in 2011.
“It’s never been a conversation,” Wiig, who is fifty years old, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “That story had an end, and it’s so beloved to me for 10 million reasons, and I think it’s OK to just have it exist in the world as it is.”
In reaction, Rudolph, who played the role of Lilian, the bride-to-be in the film directed by Paul Feig, said that she respects Wiig’s choice and that she does not have any say in the matter of whether or not a Bridesmaids sequel would be produced.

“I observed that. An actress and comedian made the following statement: “I mean, if that’s how she feels…” “I don’t know, I feel like people are always looking for some sort of answer from me, like, it’s not up to me.”
An further statement made by Rudolph was, “We had the best time doing it, so I feel like I get it.”
In accordance with Box Office Mojo, the movie continues to hold the title of the highest-grossing production directed by Judd Apatow, having earned a total of $288 million around the globe at the box office. In addition, Wiig and Annie Mumolo, who is also her writing partner, were nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Original Screenplay.
Among the other actors that appeared in Bridesmaids were Rose Byrne, Wendi Mclendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, Jon Hamm, and Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.

The actress is definitely not ruling out a return to Studio 8H at Rockefeller Plaza, stating that it may be Harris’ “time to shine.” This is in reference to the question of whether or not she would resurrect another role that she is well-known for playing, which is her depiction of Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live.
The actress, who had spent seven years of her life working on the program and had built personal ties with every member of the group, would feel as if she were returning home at this time. To the point that she was unable to choose any particular favorite memories when she was questioned about them, she said, “I have too many.”
“When I look back on my time on the comedy series, I feel like I didn’t realize how young we were and I didn’t realize how much we got to play together,” she added. “I also didn’t realize how much we got to play together.” “That is the most pleasant aspect of that group of individuals,” she said. I am so fortunate to have such a large number of amazing individuals in my life as a direct result of that program.
Another thing that she is thankful for is the possibilities that she has been given by Saturday Night Live since she left the show in 2007. Growing Ups, Disenchanted, Big Mouth, The Good Place, and other films are among the films in which the actress has appeared in addition to Bridesmaids. Fans have been particularly enthusiastic with her performance in the most recent episode of Loot, in which she plays the character of Molly Wells, the former spouse of a tech billionaire, whose divorce made her the third-richest woman in the world.
Rudolph is promising that there will be even more jokes and pranks in the second season, some of which will be similar to her spoof appearance on Hot Ones in the first season. A comical breakdown occurred for Rudolph’s character during the segment, which took place when they were eating chicken wings with the presenter, Sean Evans. Outside of the show, the moment became a meme, and it also gave rise to a concept for how the upcoming episode of the program should begin.
Additionally, Rudolph hinted at the possibility of a romantic relationship between her character and Arthur, who was portrayed by Nat Faxon. Throughout the whole of the first season, the two characters had an unspoken connection that will undoubtedly be there in the second season.
“I’m teasing that there is definitely a flirtation there and there’s some connection and I think they’re both looking,” she said to me.
Beginning on April 3, Loot season 2 will make its debut on Apple TV+.
