At least, according to Shakira herself, the fact that her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué may be to blame for the fact that she has not released a new album is something that her fans have been waiting for for nearly a decade.
In an interview that was published on Saturday, the singer-songwriter granted an interview to the Sunday Times. In the conversation, she disclosed that she had really placed her career on hold in order to provide support for Gerard while he transitioned his playing days to Barcelona.
It was revealed by Shakira that she made a lot of sacrifices in the name of love, including the decision to take care of the children rather than concentrating on her music. We all know that this love did not endure.
It is well knowledge that Gerard and Shakira ended their relationship during the summer of 2022. As the couple parted ways, suspicions of adultery circulated among followers of the couple.
The road that Shakira has chosen has led her out of Spain and into Miami, where she has quickly become friends with David Beckham. Shakira has said that she knew Beckham before to beginning her relationship with Gerard, when DB was playing for Real Madrid, who is Barcelona’s competitors.
The Colombian singer said that she is in frequent communication with Victoria Beckham, and she revealed that she is planning to take her son Milan to a soccer match in Miami, which would completely remove her father from the situation.
Although she did concede that it looked like cosmic justice that one of his former soccer opponents, Sergio Ramos, honored her with a Latin Grammy, Shakira remained exempt from the whole Piqué controversy throughout the conversation.
She also chose not to discuss her tax fraud case, opting instead to concentrate on her first studio album in seven years, titled “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which translates to “Women No Longer Cry.” Perhaps she was trying to give a wink and a push to a certain ex-lover?
In any event, it would seem that Shakira has finally returned her attention to herself. Gerard had best be on the alert for resentful fans who could have wished for an album to be released a little while earlier.
