While walking the red carpet for the 2024 Academy Awards, Kirsten Dunst nearly missed falling.
While the actress, who is 41 years old, was posing for photographs wearing her sophisticated white Gucci gown with a square neck and Fred Leighton jewels, she had a little hiccup, or more accurately, a slip.
Dunst can be seen strolling down the carpet in a video that was released by Variety. She can be seen smiling for the cameras as she moves along the carpet while glancing back at her husband Jesse Plemons, who is a few feet behind her.
Her ability to multitask is brought to an end when, just as she is about to pose with her partner, she falls and finds herself wrapped up in the arms of another man. Remarkably, the life-size Oscars statue is the one who manages to catch her fall.
In the same way as a graceful dancer would, Dunst is able to maintain her balance on the gold sculpture, which is another reason why her saving might be attributed to her own rapid reactions.
The pair reacts with a sense of humor to the impending fall. While his wife chuckles and conceals her face while whispering something in his ear, the actor from Friday Night Lights grins. He is dressed in a tuxedo.
Despite all that has happened, they are still able to operate the cameras in a professional manner.
Plemons’ film Killers of the Flower Moon is up for ten prizes this year, including Best Picture, Best Director (Martin Scorsese), Best Actress (Lily Gladstone), and Best Supporting Actor (Robert De Niro). There are also ten more categories that are up for consideration.
The carpet that was used on Sunday seemed to be a place where stars were falling.
Liza Koshy, an actress, had a significant fall earlier in the evening as a result of the enormous platform shoes she was wearing.
During the viral moment, Koshy managed to totally lose her balance while wearing her red off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown. Despite the situation, she continued to giggle through it all, even making a joke about a “manhole” being the cause of her fallage.
After being together for six years and spending time with their two boys, Ennis, who is five years old, and James, who is two years old, Dunst and Plemons discreetly tied the knot in July 2022 at the GoldenEye luxury resort located close to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
After meeting on the set of Fargo, the two have collaborated on a number of other projects since then, including the forthcoming film Civil War, which they are both working on.
