Following the conclusion of the Super Bowl that took place last evening, there is a great deal to take in. There was the customary amount of intrigue that would make headlines going on off the pitch, in addition to the on-field antics, which were, to say the least, nerve-wracking.

During the halftime show, Usher did his half-time routine, Taylor Swift was there to show her support for Travis Kelce, and there was the typical deluge of upcoming film trailers and strange advertising.

In the latter category, there was a trailer for De.adpool 3, which was much anticipated; but, it was a commercial with Mark Wahlberg that really had the internet talking.

Finding out that actor Mark Wahlberg is a man of faith and discipline is not something that should come as a surprise to anybody.

Despite the fact that the Hollywood star has previously discussed the part that God plays in his life, the film industry has not been very receptive to his statements. A statement made by Wahlberg just a year ago:

“I do not want to impose my religious beliefs on anybody, but I will not give up believing in them. Even more serious than that is the sin.

“I am aware that it is not well received in my industry, but I am unable to deny my convictions. Sharing such information with other people is really important to me. My friends come from a wide variety of backgrounds and adhere to a variety of religious and cultural traditions; thus, it is essential to respect and honor them as well.

\In spite of this, a great number of individuals were confused and even “embarrassed” by a commercial that featured Wahlberg and was shown during the Super Bowl festivities in Nevada on Friday night. In order to promote the Catholic app Hallow, the 52-year-old individual collaborated with Jonathan Roumie, who is a host on The Chosen on TBN.

In the ad, Wahlberg is heard saying, “God, we take this moment just to give You thanks because we are grateful.”

The message that read, “For the first time ever, join over 100 million people in prayer during Super Bowl LVIII,” was shown on the large screen that was located within the arena.

Alex Jones, the co-founder and CEO of Hallow, stated in a press release that was distributed prior to the airing of the commercial that “the goal at Hallow has always been to reach out to as many people as possible, both those who take their faith seriously and especially those who may have fallen away, and invite them deeper into a relationship with God.”.

“We couldn’t have been more excited to work with Mark and Jonathan to use the Big Game as an opportunity to invite millions of people to pray when we found out about the timing of the game this year,” said the team.

It has been reported that the Hallow app, which enables users to pray while they are on the go, has been very popular ever since it was first brought to market in 2018.

There were, however, a great number of people who voiced their disapproval of the ad and Wahlberg’s participation.

One of the readers said, “Congratulations to Mark Wahlberg for ensuring that Ben Affleck did not embarrass Boston on the most significant level during this Super Bowl.”

Someone more said, “I can’t help but think that the Mark Wahlberg commercial is at the top of my list of the most bizarre Super Bowl commercials to date.”

According to a third individual, “Did I just hear Mark Wahlberg say that you should stay prayed up?”

What about the ad in question, have you seen it? Having said that, what were your opinions on the matter?
