The former American Idol contestant and country music superstar will be appearing on the program for their Hawai’i episodes!
American Idol is going to be Jelly Roll’s next destination!
An individual who has been nominated for a Grammy Award will be participating in the next 22nd season of the singing competition as a guest coach and performance to hopeful participants.
Tori Kelly, who will also be coaching and singing on the season, will be joining him. She will be returning to the program where she got her start in the entertainment industry.
When Kelly was just 18 years old, she made it to Hollywood Week during the ninth season of the award show. As a result of her removal, she self-released her first extended play (EP), titled Handmade Songs, in the year 2012, which marked the beginning of her ascent to fame.
The episodes of Jelly and Kelly will be filmed in Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The purpose of these recordings is to showcase the aspiring American Idol contestants as they perform on the beach in front of the judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest serving as the host.
Last autumn, ET had the opportunity to speak with the judges of American Idol while they were auditioning singers for the new season, which would be their sixth season working together as a group.
Perry said, “You can’t separate us,” and he is right. “You can’t break this fam down!”
“Don’t even try it!” Richie was with you.
As the group went to each of their hometowns, Santa Barbara, California, Tuskegee, Alabama, and Leesburg, Georgia, they said that they learn more about each other with each passing season. This season in particular was very illuminating for them since they visited to each of their hometowns.
“Oh, you have no idea,” Richie assured Bryan, while Bryan said, “It was like being on a field trip.” Richie gave Bryan a promise.
The debut of the 22nd season of American Idol will take place on Sunday, February 18 at 8 p.m. Pacific Time and Eastern Time on ABC.
