Apollo was urged by Stallone, who was a co-star in the film “Rocky,” to “keep punching.”
An awful loss has left Sylvester Stallone in a state of grief. An heartfelt homage to his Rocky co-star Carl Weathers was posted by Sylvester Stallone on Instagram a few hours after the news of Weathers’ passing hit the internet.
“I am experiencing a remarkable amount of sadness today. I’m so broken up that I hardly know what to say to you. In light of the fact that Carl Weathers had such a significant role in my life, my accomplishments, and everything else that pertains to it, I am only attempting to contain my emotions. “I give him incredible credit and kudos, because, when he walked into that room and I saw him for the first time, I saw greatness, but I didn’t realize how great.”
Following that, Stallone stated, “I never would have been able to accomplish what we did with Rocky without him.” He was simply magnificent in every way; his voice, his stature, his strength, his athletic abilities, but most importantly, his heart and his soul. A terrible loss has occurred.”
As Stallone spoke in front of a vibrantly colored picture that depicted him and Weathers fighting, he said that he was doing so because “it was probably the last moment we were ever in the ring together, and I’ll never forget it.” The artwork depicted the two of them boxing.
The conclusion that Stallone reached was that “He was magic,” and that “I was so fortunate to be a part of his life.” “Apollo, keep punching.”
“We lost a legend yesterday,” Stallone wrote in a sad description for his image, which was also seen on his Instagram account. On the day that I first met Carl Weathers, my life was transformed in a way that will last a lifetime. Do not let go of your force and continue to hit.”
Apollo Creed was first played by Weathers in the film Rocky, which was released in 1976. This film provided Sylvester Stallone’s character, Rocky Balboa, with an opportunity to compete for the title of Rocky Balboa. Weathers reprised the role of Creed in Rocky II (1979), which was the film in which Creed fought Balboa for the title of Rocky II champion. The character became an important part of the Rocky television series.
When Apollo Creed made his final appearance in Rocky IV (1984), he sadly met his end in the ring against Russian heavyweight Ivan Drago, who was portrayed by Dolph Lundgren. He continued to captivate spectators in Rocky III (1982), which was the character’s final appearance.

Weathers has also had appearances in The Mandalorian, voiced a character in Toy Story 4, played with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator, and performed alongside Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore. In addition to Rocky, Weathers has also been in other films.
In a statement to ET, Weathers’ family revealed that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 1.
“Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life,” the statement read from the statement. “As a result of his contributions to the fields of cinema, television, the arts, and sports, he has left an indelible imprint and is known all over the globe and across generations. As a brother, father, grandpa, partner, and friend, he was cherished by everybody who knew him.
His former wife, Mary Ann, and their two boys are the only people who will remember Weathers.
