Oprah Winfrey is celebrating a birthday that marks a significant milestone!

A video of Winfrey going for a run on the beach was posted on Instagram as part of her celebration of turning 70 on Monday. Winfrey celebrated her birthday by getting some exercise. When she paired the video with Jill Scott’s song “Golden,” she wrote, “This is 70!” next to the song.

A run on the beach to commemorate the day I turned 70. She captioned the photo with the hashtag “#healthisthebestgift.” “I am grateful for all of the kind birthday wishes.

After increasing the amount of physical activity in her life, the media mogul shared with PEOPLE that she is experiencing a greater sense of strength than she has ever had before.

She acknowledged that she had just gained a better understanding of how to properly maintain a healthy weight over an extended period of time by using a holistic strategy that incorporates regular exercise and other modifications to one’s lifestyle. Additionally, Winfrey has acknowledged that she has also included a weight-loss medicine as part of her routine.

Swings in weight and height “occupied fifty decades of space in my brain, yo-yoing and feeling like why can’t I just conquer this thing, believing that willpower was my failing,” said Winfrey, whose tenacious recovery after knee surgery in 2021 kicke-started what has been consistent weight reduction over the course of the previous two years.

I began hiking after having knee surgery, and I made it a point to establish new mileage targets for myself every week. At some point in the future, I will be able to trek three to five miles every day, and on the weekends, I will be able to hike ten miles straight. “I felt stronger, more fit and more alive than I’d felt in years.”

The publication Oprah: Her Incredible Life, which is now available, is a new special edition that is being released in honor of Winfrey’s birthday. All of the ways in which Winfrey altered the society are included in this special edition. These include a breakthrough talk show (and its run lasted for 25 seasons!), a career in the film industry, charity activities, and more.

“Gratitude really is my religion,” Winfrey stated in an interview with People magazine in December for the publication’s cover story. She also said that her film The Color Purple, which was released in 1985, “was a spiritual opening for me to see my life in a different way” at that point in her life.

Then she went on to say that her mission in life is to assist in elevating other people.

“I still continue to rise, and I’m in a space now where my offering is to help other people to rise,” said Winfrey. “The principle that is the underbelly, the cornerstone for how I operate in the world. … Life is better when you share it.”

Oprah: Her Incredible Life also includes an interview from the archives of People magazine that was conducted in 1985, when Winfrey was on the verge of becoming a worldwide celebrity. At the time, she said, “What works best in television is your ability to feel comfortable in front of the camera — and I feel real good.”
