It would seem that Justin Timberlake was unable to control his emotions when it came to his next assignment.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the singer known for his song “Rock Your Body” said that he had recorded a total of one hundred tracks for his first album in six years, which was titled Everything I Thought It Was.

As Timberlake said to the radio DJ, who is fifty years old, “I worked for a long time on this album, and I ended up with one hundred songs.” “So narrowing them down to 18 was a thing.”

An open statement was made by the pop artist revealing how “excited” he is about his next endeavor.

“I think every artist probably says this, but it is my best work,” remarked Justin Timberlake.

The singer of “Mirrors” said that Everything I Thought It Was has “moments that are incredibly honest, but also, there’s a lot of f—ing fun on this album.” Mirrors is a song that was released in 1989.

Timberlake went on to explain, stating that the title originates from the fact that “some of the songs are more introspective and some of them are more what I think people know me for.”

“I was able, on some of the songs, to look back at the past and have a real, not a refracted perspective of what it was because they always say … you always hear that thing about, well, there’s never any truth, there’s just everybody’s perspective of what happened,” said the musician. “But to really look at it and be able to metabolize and verbalize my perspective on it, I don’t think I’ve ever really done that before.”

Additionally, Timberlake addressed the possibility of doing a musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live on January 27.

I toyed with the thought of whether or not I should host or ask someone else to host. After that, I just had the notion, ‘No, this record is extremely significant to me in a new, different manner,'” the artist who has won ten Grammys stated.

Nevertheless, Timberlake “also cannot imagine that I won’t get pulled into a sketch or two.”

“This is very normal. The five-time host of Saturday Night Live said, “And I’m here for it.”

The new track “Selfish” by Justin Timberlake was released on Thursday, along with the music video that accompanied it. Bradley J. Calder was the director of the music video.

After the release of his album Man in the Woods in 2018, Timberlake has not released any new music as a solo artist in six years. The song “Selfish,” which was first teased on Instagram on Friday, is his first new music in this capacity.

The first single off the album is a ballad with a midtempo R&B beat that is reminiscent of Timberlake’s earlier performances. The song, which was written by Louis Bell, Henry Walter, Theron Makiel Thomas, and Amy Allen, reveals the sensitive side of the performer, and the accompanying music also serves to highlight this vulnerability.
