It came as a complete surprise to Graham and Stephanie Freels when they learned that they were going to have five children. For a period of five years, the couple had been trying to have a child without any result. Following their marriage in 2017, Stephanie had surgery to remove a pituitary cyst; nonetheless, they were still unable to conceive a child. As a result, they decided to undergo ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination techniques.
due December of 2022, Stephanie was informed that she was expecting a child, but the family was due for a far more shocking revelation. During the month of January, Stephanie had an ultrasound that proved she was carrying five infants at the same time. In April of 2023, an ecstatic Graham shared the news on Facebook and even launched a blog in order to keep his friends and family kept up to speed with the latest information.
When they heard the news, Graham and Stephanie immediately felt both delighted and worried. Initial plans called for them to relocate out of Stephanie’s parents’ house, where they had been residing ever since they were married. They had signed a lease for a modest apartment in preparation for their transfer. They decided to vacate the lease since the infants were on the way.
“I called up the landlord and I said, ‘I think we’re about to have a lot of kids, and I don’t think that apartment is going to work for us anymore,'” Graham stated in an interview with Good Morning America (GMA).

In March of 2023, the Freels also made a temporary move to Phoenix, Arizona, so that Dr. John Elliott, a specialist in maternal and fetal medicine who had assisted in the delivery of several kids, could monitor the pregnancy. Dr. Elliot was able to alleviate the couple’s anxiety of having five children at the same time, as the parents disclosed.
During the time that Graham was working from a remote location in Phoenix and taking care of his wife, she had to go through the terrible and persistent nausea and vomiting that came along with her pregnancy.
According to her, “I believe that was the most challenging aspect of my pregnancy, which was the fact that I had to make an effort to meet that calorie goal.” “Until I was approximately 23 weeks pregnant, I did not really start eating solid foods on a consistent basis.”
Stephanie went into labor in the 27th week of pregnancy, and an emergency cesarean section was performed at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Freels had hoped to wait until the 34th week of pregnancy before delivering their child. On June 4, 2023, a group of more than twenty medical professionals assisted in the procedure, which resulted in the delivery of four girls and one boy.
Regarding the births, the hospital sent a press statement to the public. Adelyn, Eliana, Linnea, Harper, and Fisher were the names given to the quintuplets who were brothers and sisters. They weighed around 2 pounds at birth and were in the neonatal intensive care unit for a total of 11 weeks because they required breathing assistance.
Thankfully, the hospital has a famous Nursery Intensive Care Unit (NyICU), according to Andrea Hassler, nursing director of women and baby services at the hospital, which she claimed is noteworthy for caring after “some of the most fragile babies.” The infants were in good health and did not have any major difficulties.
For a number of years, we had prayed to God that he would bless us with children, and now, at long last, our prayers were being answered! The statement was made by Stephanie, who was quoted in the release. “I have always desired to have a large family, but I could never have imagined that it would happen altogether.”
It was on August 19, 2023 when Fisher, the sole boy, was the last of the infants to be released from the hospital. After that, the pair relocated to Washington, going back to the house of Stephanie’s parents, where they received a great deal of assistance.
“It’s incredible to have them at home,” Stephanie said in an interview with Good Morning America. “And it is so nice that they do not have to go back and forth to the neonatal intensive care unit.”
The newlyweds expressed their gratitude to the families, friends, and strangers who had assisted them by providing them with presents and services. They also expressed gratitude to the medical staff for the attention they provided.
The level of attention that they put into taking care of not just our twins but also every single infant that they are dealing with is simply remarkable. They are genuinely fantastic people. Graham said that they are doing remarkable things.
