A artist revealed her ultimate desire from hospice more than two years after receiving a diagnosis of cancer. She begged her TikTok fans to stream a new song that she had written for her son Loren, who was seven years old, so that she could give him the revenues from the song.

On January 23, Cat Janice discovered that her song “Dance You Outta My Head” was now ranked among the top songs on iTunes.

After working through a number of challenging years, the singer-songwriter had a moment of pride.

According to her explanation on TikTok, the Washington, DC resident initially had a bump in her neck in the month of November 2021. Her first reaction was that she did not give it much consideration; but, in March of the following year, she became aware that the lump was still there. In the video, she can be heard saying, “It was larger, and it was very difficult.”

Consequently, Janice, who had just celebrated her 31st birthday on January 21st, went to the doctor to have checked out. It was determined that she had sarcoma, an uncommon kind of cancerous tumor at the time.

Before she was certified cancer-free on July 22, 2022, she had undergone surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment respectively. She never stopped singing and writing songs, and she continued to post them on various social media platforms throughout it all.

However, in June of 2023, the recipient of the Washington Area Music Award informed her followers that the cancer had returned and was now located in her lungs.

“I’m going to go back into treatment,” she keeps going on to say. “I’m going to be really effing strong about it, and I’m going to let you guys know what’s going on,” she said. Moreover, I am quite grateful to you all for loving me.
The second round of cancer treatment is documented in videos uploaded to TikTok by the singer. She records the process of her hair coming out in one of her videos. The writer wrote: “When you coincidentally release a song about losing your hair on the day your hair actually falls out.”

January 2024 was the month when Janice made her comeback to social media in order to inform her fans that the cancer had been defeated. “The tumors basically tripled overnight,” she said in her description.

She tells PEOPLE that she underwent hospice care on January 10 after she was no longer able to breathe when she was in the intensive care unit. In order to ensure that Loren would get all of the royalties, she committed all of her songs to her son’s name. When she realized that she was very close to the end of her career, she made plans to release one more tune.

“It is common knowledge that I have been fighting cancer for some time, and I wanted to release this song so that people may listen to it on streaming services. I really hope that you like it. I don’t know if I’m going to be around even when the music comes out, so let’s just put it out. According to her, “And I did.”

She explains that the concept for the song “Dance You Outta My Head” originated in the spring of the previous year. She was “bopping around in the car” with Loren, and they were taking pleasure in the nice weather that was coming in through the windows.

“We came up with some fun lyrics and a little ditty,” according to her. “I song banked it and made a little voice note of it and as time went on we would bounce around in the car to it every now and then.” After a few months had passed, she completed it.

As she promised her admirers, she had the aim of releasing it before she passed away. “My last joy would be if you pre saved my song “Dance You Outta My Head” in my bio and streamed it because all proceeds go straight to my 7 year old boy im leaving behind,” she said on the platform.

It is imperative that you discuss this with him, as I need to leave it with him. To everyone of you, I wish you a nice night and I hope that you are able to make it through this. she went on to say.

Afterwards, on January 23, Janice awoke at two in the morning because the low battery on her medication line was causing it to beep. Upon checking her Facebook page, she saw that iTunes had mentioned her in a post announcing that her music had charted.

“I was sitting there in the middle of the night looking at my phone — what the heck is going on here?” she recalled thinking. “I started yelling and my parents came down, they were like, what is going on?”

The things that her fans have made possible over the last few days are something that she is thankful for.

“I just wanted to put out something fun and positive,” according to her. “My art is all I have to leave behind.”
