The American actress America Ferrera is showing her support for Ryan Gosling.

In a post that she published on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Ferrera, who is 39 years old, shared with her followers the remark that her Barbie costar made on Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie’s rejections from the Academy Awards. This is absolutely spot on.

This comes after Ryan Gosling, who is 43 years old and was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Ken in the film, released a powerful statement on Tuesday, after the announcement of the 2024 Oscar nominations.

Gosling expressed his disappointment in Gerwig, who is 40 years old, and Robbie, who is 33 years old, for not being nominated for their respective categories. “To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement,” Gosling stated regarding the two aforementioned individuals.

In spite of the fact that Gosling expressed his “extreme honor” at being nominated, the father of two children went on to say that there is “no Ken without Barbie.” There is no such thing as a Barbie movie that does not have Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie.

After that, he referred to Gerwig and Robbie as “the two people most responsible for this history-making film that is celebrated all over the world.”

Just a few hours after the nominations were released on Tuesday, Ferrera, who was herself nominated for Best Supporting Actress, had already disclosed that she was “incredibly disappointed” that her other female colleagues did not also get mentions during the announcement.

“Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it,” the actress who played Gloria stated in an interview with Variety. The act of creating this universe and turning something that did not have any intrinsic worth to the majority of people into a phenomena that is observed all over the globe. Seeing that she is not included on the list is a source of disappointment.

Ferrera said to the publication that what Robbie has accomplished as an actor is “truly unbelievable” in Barbie. Robbie has been nominated for two Academy Awards in the past for her performance, one for Best actor for the film I, Tonya in 2018, and the other for Best Supporting Actress for the film Bombshell in 2019.

“As an actor, one of the great things about Margot is how effortlessly she manages to make everything appear effortless. In addition, it is possible that individuals were misled into believing that the task was simple,” she said.

“But Margot is a magician as an actress in front of the screen, and it was one of the honors of my career to get to witness her pull off the amazing performance she did,” according to her statement to the publication.

There were certain things that Gerwig and Robbie did not miss out on on Tuesday. Robbie was nominated for Best Picture for her work as a producer on the picture, and the director was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for her work as one of the screenwriters on Barbie. The overall number of nominations garnered by Barbie was eight, placing it in fourth place among all of the films that were nominated.
