Throughout the course of the awards season, Ali Wong and Bill Hader have been putting their romance on show.

Wong, who is 41 years old, said to Access Hollywood in advance of the 2023 Emmy Awards that “we’ve been together for a minute, so it’s like, I guess people didn’t know were together.” This statement may come as a surprise to some individuals, but we have been together for quite some time.

After receiving awards at the Emmys, the 2024 Golden Globes, and the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, the star of the Netflix series Beef, who won the Emmy for best lead actress in a limited or anthology series or television movie for her part in the series, shared a kiss with Hader, who is 45 years old. Hader was also the recipient of the award for her role in the series. Wong has said that she and the creator of Barry, who was also nominated for an Emmy on Monday for the category of best actor in a comedy series, like to keep their relationship “very selectively private.”

She is the mother of two girls, Nikki, who is six years old, and Mari, who is eight years old. She also said that the reason their relationship is successful is because she and Hader, who has three kids with his ex-wife Maggie Carey, find themselves in comparable situations in life.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Wong said, “It’s just also, like, we’re both, like, in our 40s and parents.”

Following a short courtship in the autumn of 2022, Hader and Wong have restarted their romance, according to a confirmation made by PEOPLE in April. Wong made the announcement that she was divorcing her spouse, Justin Hakuta, in April 2022. In December of the same year, she finalized the divorce petition from the businessman, who was 41 years old.

Even when she won at the Golden Globes earlier this month, Hakuta expressed her gratitude to Wong for his support. Their friendship has remained cordial during this time.

She stated this as she accepted the award for best actress in a limited series, anthology series, or a motion film created for television for her performance in Beef. “I really need to thank the father of my children and my best friend, Justin, for all of your love and support,” she added. The fact that I am able to be a working mother is a direct result of your support.

In a subsequent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wong said that she prefers “to keep it peaceful, grateful, and amicable” when it comes to the males in her life.

During the award speech that Wong gave at the Emmys on Monday, she made a special mention of her parents and kids.

“To my beautiful daughters, you are my everything and thank you for inspiring me,” was what she said. “This is for you.”
