In the aftermath of a brutal dog attack that occurred more than three years ago, Brooklinn Khoury is describing the “painful” but “rewarding” sequence of reconstructive surgery that she performed.
A pit bull attacked the professional skateboarder on November 3, 2020, causing her to lose her top lip and a portion of her nose. The assault occurred on November 3. She has subsequently chronicled on social media her multiple medical operations as well as the last phases of the process, including her lip tattoo visits. Furthermore, she has documented her lip tattoo sessions.
The young man, who is 24 years old, chronicled the immediate aftermath of the incident by posting a series of gruesome images on Instagram on Monday. Almost immediately after the assault, Khoury’s face was recorded in the first photograph. Her nose was covered with gauze, and her eyes were so swollen that they were almost closed. The subsequent photographs contained pictures of Khoury’s original injuries, as well as pictures taken following the first sets of surgical procedures.
“When I look back at these pictures, it’s hard to believe that my nose was as bad as it was,” Khoury said in the description of the photo.
She proceeded to describe the first physical hit that was made to her face. “I realized that I was losing my cartilage as well as the inside sections of my nostrils and nose. This operation was the most difficult and painful of all, but it was also the most satisfying.
Khoury disclosed the order in which the first round of reconstructive procedures were performed in the article that she published on Monday.
“In order to reconstruct the tip of my nose, my surgeon had to remove a piece of cartilage from my inner septum,” Khoury stated. “This was very difficult for him.” After that, he attached the cartilage to the remnants of the interior of my nose that were left behind. I cannot express how thankful I am for the results that my surgeon was able to achieve.
Three years after the assault, Khoury published a post on Instagram in which she celebrated how far she had progressed from the previous event. Khoury revealed moments from each stage of her rehabilitation journey in the video clip that was posted of her.
According to the caption that Khoury added to the photo, “On November 3rd, 2020, my life changed instantly.” My whole top lip and a portion of my nose were severed as a result of an assault by a dog. All of the feelings that you could possible imagine have been there throughout the course of the last three years. Happiness, development, continuing to adapt to a culture that isn’t accustomed to facial diversity, and growing to love myself from the inside out are all things that I am looking forward to.
Following the celebration of her success that she had made one month earlier, she published an encouraging message on Instagram. Khoury underlined to any’struggling’ followers that they should “take it day by day” despite the fact that she highlighted how lengthy her recovery path was taking.

During the month of December, the social media influencer tweeted, “When I was going through all of these surgeries, it was really hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.” “Life is full of surprises, but it is also so wonderful. You have my admiration. Stay the course.”
