Brie Larson’s devotion is something that Jennifer Lopez really values.
At the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, which took place on Sunday, the actress who plays Captain Marvel stopped Lopez and emotionally raved about the influence that her work has had. The artist who will be performing “On the Floor” is now reminiscing on the “overwhelming” occasion.
“It brings tears to my eyes now because it’s very moving, because you give your heart and soul to this when you’re an artist,” Lopez, who is 54 years old, said in a recent interview with Zane Lowe broadcast on Apple Music 1.

“I remember being a little girl and watching West Side Story and seeing Rita Moreno and knowing what that meant for me,” said the actress and singer respectively. “When I was looking at Brie and I saw her and I was just staring in her eyes because she was so locked in with me and just [was] like, ‘I have wanted to tell you this for so long.'”
In her explanation, Lopez said that her love for celebrities such as Moreno assisted her in comprehending Larson’s emotions during the event.
“I saw myself, and I saw the little girl, and to think that I did that for somebody was really, really overwhelming,” she told Lowe about it. “I could have really taken a moment there, but it was very lovely to have an experience like that.”
“I don’t think I ever imagined that I would have an experience like that with somebody who is so talented and who I watch their movies and who, is kind of in a way, my contemporary,” said J.Lo. “It was a very kind thing that she did, and it meant a lot to me, probably even more than it did to her.”
Larson was unable to contain her emotions when she noticed Lopez standing behind her when she was having a chat with ET on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday. “Oh my, my God. Larson remarked, “I’m going to cry,” as she closed her eyes and cried out. “I can’t deal with J.Lo.”
Larson did, in fact, “deal” with the celebrity, whom she congratulated right away, despite the fact that she seemed to be at a loss for words and was fanning herself with her palms. Lopez responded, “You mean too much to me,” as Larson introduced herself to her. “I am so grateful to you.”
The actress who had won the Oscar quickly became honest with the other actress. The moment I watched Selena, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in acting. Moreover, you have always meant a great deal to me,” she stated in reference to Lopez’s film from 1997.
Lopez said, “Oh my God, please don’t make me cry,” in response.
At the same time that both of the ladies started to cry even more, Larson referred to the event as “a dream” of hers.
She told Lopez, “Your work ethic is so important,” and she was right. “I am grateful to you. I have been wanting to tell you that for a very long time, and I really — I didn’t think it was going to be right now — I am very excited to tell you that. I see. It’s going to be up to me to go get a shot of tequila or anything like that.
In response, Lopez made a joke and said, “I just did one,” before waving to Larson’s mother who was standing off to the side.

Lopez released her new song “Can’t Get Enough” on Wednesday. The song is the first single from her forthcoming album This Is Me…Now, which will be released on February 16 along with an accompanying Prime Video film.
In a different part of the conversation with Apple Music, she disclosed that the album was finished when it was first announced a year ago. “It just took that long to get everything perfect and right and to make the movie,” stated Jennifer Lopez. “I came up with the idea for the movie after the music was made.”
The musician and “Jenny from the Block” performer continued, “I was like, ‘OK, there’s something really special to be said here along with this story,’ and there’s also the journey that I’ve been on all this time, and I wanted to share all of those things with this project because it really is a culmination of a whole life in a way.”
