Although she was still in high school, the actress was selected as the most likely to win an Academy Award.
Lily Gladstone is overjoyed thanks to the viral yearbook photo she posted. On Thursday, Rachel Smith of ET chatted with the star of Killers of the Flower Moon at the National Board of Review Awards. During their conversation, she discussed her reaction to being selected Most Likely to Win an Oscar while she was still in high school.
“We’ll see,” Gladstone, who is a frontrunner for the Academy Awards, said to ET when asked about whether or not the high school superlative would be realized.
In spite of the fact that Gladstone, who was awarded the title of Best Actress at the NBR Awards, does not end up winning an Academy Award this year, the fact that her high school picture has gone viral has had a remarkable influence.
“One of the nicest things about it, honestly, is the way that it’s kind of reunited my high school class,” according to Gladstone. “Everybody’s so excited about this.”

In addition, Gladstone was overjoyed that the picture that went viral brought attention to her fellow student, Josh Ryder, who had also been awarded the same prize by the same organization.
“Being able to experience these opportunities and seeing Josh Ryder, who is an outstanding actor, in action. “I would recommend that anyone in the Seattle area go to Betty Restaurant and Bar because he is the proprietor of that establishment,” she added. “It’s been incredible to have this moment to reconnect with all these old friends.”
In terms of what she would say to her younger self when she was in high school, Gladstone made the following observation: “There may have been a little bit of, ‘Ugh, Josh is clutching a tiny phony Oscar. This is fine. What if I told you? Just take it easy. It is not a problem.”
In an earlier post, Ryder responded to the photograph by saying on Instagram, “It’s so f**king wonderful to watch @lilygladstone fly. She is still a class act, both in terms of her elegance and her ability to empower people. This tough lady has me completely and utterly smitten. “Lily, you must go!”
According to Harmony Weinberg, director of communications at the high school district where the friends attended, “We are beyond proud of Lily Gladstone and her amazing accomplishments.” Lily Gladstone’s high school district has also expressed its delight at the publicity. All of our kids look up to her as a source of motivation. On behalf of everyone in the Edmonds School District, we are cheering for her and we hope that she brings it home with her!

It has already been a fruitful awards season for Gladstone, who was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her performance as Mollie Burkhart in the film directed by Martin Scorsese. It was the first time in the history of the Golden Globes that an Indigenous woman had won the award.
