As the new year begins, Michael Bolton is experiencing a setback in his health.

In a touching message that he sent out to his devoted followers on Friday, the well-known singer revealed that he had just been diagnosed with a brain tumor and that he would be refraining from performing on stage.

“Just before the holidays, it was revealed that I had a brain tumor, which necessitated surgery as soon as possible. According to a post that the singer, who is 70 years old, made on Facebook, “the surgery was a success thanks to my incredible medical team.” “I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”

Additionally, the Grammy winner informed his fans that he would be “dedicating” the “next couple of months” to his health and will be taking a “temporary break” from touring because of this.

In a letter that he sent to his fans, Bolton expressed his gratitude for their “love and support” throughout the years. “It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show,” he said. “But have no doubt that I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.”

“Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can,” he continued, signing his letter. “I’ll always be here for you.” “Much love always, MB.”

A year ago, the celebrity released an album called Spark of Light, which included the emotionally affecting tune “Beautiful World.” In the album, he discussed the need of spreading happiness during difficult times.

“We were basically observing our friends and family and seeing that they all really needed some light, that it was so dark and oppressive and basically we were all just carrying layers of fear to our every day,” he remarked when asked about finding inspiration during the epidemic. “And so we started to feel a sense of responsibility to deliver hope and promise and all these feelings that seem to be so elusive, and it started to become a feel-good record.”

Additionally, Bolton said that he found the greatest happiness in his family life after spending decades working in the profession. In addition to being a grandfather to six grandkids, he is the father to three girls, Isa, Holly, and Taryn, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Maureen.

“I’m filled with more love and pride in my girls as they raise their own families,” according to him. The individuals I care about are the source of a great deal of joy for me… The things that are really essential always remain the same. Love is the most essential thing, the core of all that exists in the universe. There is nothing more significant.”

After admitting that he had taken himself a little “too seriously” in the early stages of his career, Bolton said that he had learnt to lean into comedy and enjoy life more.

It is when you let go of things that the joy begins to become apparent… When asked about it at the time, he said, “I don’t feel like I’m about to slow down yet.”
