Demi Lovato and Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes are getting married very soon, and the wedding bells are about to ring!
The duo, who had previously made their relationship public in August 2022, announced their engagement on Saturday in Los Angeles, according to a representative for the artist who confirmed the news exclusively to People.
Lutes, a composer who is 32 years old and came to know Lovato for the first time in January 2022 when they collaborated on the writing of her song “Substance,” proposed to Lovato with a handmade diamond solitaire engagement ring in the form of a pear that was crafted by the New York City luxury jewelry store Material Good.
Immediately after what they described as a “personal and intimate proposal,” Lutes and Lovato (who uses she/them pronouns) went to Craig’s, one of their favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, to celebrate with their respective families.

The month of August marked Lovato’s 31st birthday, and Lutes paid homage to his now-fiancée by posting a series of adorable photographs and goofy movies on his social media accounts.
I want to wish my best pal a happy birthday. The caption that he added to the photo said, “You are without a doubt the most stunning and talented person who has ever done it.” “but more importantly you’re weird af and u make me cry laughing.”
Lutes is credited as a writer on many songs by Lovato, including “Happy Ending” and “City of Angels,” which are all included on Lovato’s eighth studio album, Holy Fvck. Furthermore, Lutes collaborated with Lovato on the song “Substance.”
The statement was made by Lovato earlier this year as she was promoting their new album on CBS Mornings. “I definitely am in a really good place,” she said. Due to the fact that I am experiencing such joy, I am unsure of what I will write about on my subsequent album. “It is a really good feeling… definitely a bunch of sappy love songs in every sense of the word.”
During an interview that took place in July on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Lovato discussed the couple’s romantic history, stating that they were “friends first and foremost.”
It was initially that we became buddies. We had been friends for a number of months before we made the decision to begin dating, and after that, we made sure to let each other know how we felt about each other,” stated Lovato.
Lovato referred to the independent musician as her “sweet angel” in a touching message that she made on social media in March, while she was celebrating his birthday.
“I’ve waited my whole life to find you and I can’t wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together.. you’re a literal dream come true and I’m so grateful to call you mine,” she said on her Instagram account.
